Another instrumental one-hitter from a popular TV commercial...

Billy Joe & the Checkmates - Percolator (Twist)

Maxwell House Coffee commercial

Has a good beat and I can dance to it!!!!

Yeah one hit wonder only for the US-- but we did get some air play for the Sun Always Shines on TV But pathetic recognition of this Norwegian band that *still* going today.

Check out their beautiful cover of Crying in the Rain for instance.

Check out this great album 30 years after Take On Me. Not only does Morten look as good as he did back then (testament to that healthy Norwegian fish diet I'm sure) ...but he sounds ever better with a beautifully matured voice.

Also listen to "T.O.M 2015" called Forest Fire...which i still contend The Weeknd stole the keyboard riff for his mega-hit Blinding Lights!

Don't think I've seen this one yet....

Lunatic Fringe by Red Rider

FYI I am sure many remember but for those who don't there is a 5.1 DVD A of Red Rider with Tom Cochrane.

Another one just came to mind. John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band's On the Dark Side from the movie Eddie and the Cruisers. A big hit in the US, largely because it sounded like Springsteen. I don't think the band was ever heard from again.

yup. Lyrical controversies have followed music from the day man decided to sing. Its nothing new.

Yep, speaking of that topic & one hit wonders, there's *this* still-controversial song. Benny can say what he wants about the origin, but I'm still not so sure about this poster-child of an example.

I'm not *even* going to post original video for this...
