HiRez Poll Opeth - IN CAUDA VENENUM [Blu-Ray Audio]

Please post your thoughts and comments on this 2019 release from Opeth entitled "In Cauda Venenum".
The Super Deluxe edition of this album contains a 5.1 surround Blu-Ray featuring the album in both English and Swedish!

I give it an 8. It's not terribly exciting, but it sounds good. Interestingly, the Swedish version benefits more from the surround as there are additional backing vocals not present in the English version.

Snagged a parted out blu-ray from ebay.
Rocking the Swedish version.
The surrounds are the domain of background vocals, strings, keys and sound effects.
Fronts hold drums, guitars, bass and lead vocal.
Works for me!

The abrupt sound cuts between tracks 2 and 3 and 9 and 10 don't sound right to me.
Has this been addressed before?

I don't have the CDs or LPs to compare to. Are you able to?

The talking at the end of Sveket Prins does cut out abruptly, but Kontinuerlig Drift and Allting Tar Slut should segue seamlessly.

Track 2 to 3 sounds OK to me,but 9 to 10 sounds weird.Will check the CD tomorrow.To hot to stay inside for me.27degrees Celsius.

I've ripped the Blu-Ray and play the tracks back on my PC with no problem (the 5(4).1 version). I can't say about actual playback from the Blu-Ray but it should be the same...

Oh, I definitely got a nasty gap between 9 and 10 on my Sony X800. I wonder if the OPPO would handle it differently?

I get a weird gap between 9 and 10 on my Oppo 105.Have not tried my 800M2.

Checked the CD Swedish version,and the transition from track 2 to 3 is the same as the BD but 9 to 10 is smooth on the CD.

The BD is definitely glitched. The transition between 9 and 10 should be seamless but the disc introduces some kind of skip or split second gap (not quite sure what it is). I've tried to fix it in Audacity but can't seem to do it successfully.

I didn't notice a gap between 2 & 3 but did have one between 9 & 10 on my rip of the English version,

This is my first purchase of a new Opeth album, not a fan of the harsh vocals, I love the music and songs on this album. I loved it enough to buy Pale Communion though Amazon and Deliverance and Damnation through Discogs, While I love the songs, the surround mix leaves a lot on the table.

The most notable surround feature is the Swedish spoken parts, Occasionally you will hear vocals in the surrounds. For the most part this is release is a stereo mix with some surround mirroring. The most exciting part of the surround mix was the Nuclear Blast "logo".

When this arrives in the mail, it seems impressive, but all the weight is from vinyl I will never play,
