Ok, I assume this is the correct thread to discuss troubleshooting / issues upon setup. If not, please point me in the right direction. But here goes:

I plugged in my new NUC to power, and connected the HDMI out to my AVR HDMI in, same HDMI jack as my previous NUC that this is replacing. Upon powering up the unit and the AVR, there is a very audible hum, like RF interference, coming through my speakers. This occurs using any of my available HDMI jacks on my AVR. In fact, the hum is there just by touching the HDMI cable to the back plate of my AVR, even before I insert the cable into the input.

The hum does not vary in volume if I change the AVR volume. I tried 3 different HDMI cables, all with the same interference. I did not have this with my previous NUC. The hum is there even when I switch to other inputs on the AVR, as long as the cable is connected. When I removed the NUC, the hum stopped. I then connected the NUC to a different system (non-surround), and it played fine with no hum. So there is some sort of interference specifically between the NUC and my AVR.

Any ideas on how I can eliminate it?

I've never had any issue with several NUCs, in 3 houses and 5 installations (probably 15 NUCs)

I suspect its the Power Supply (60Hz hum).

Can you try re-routing the power cable, moving the supply to another power point (temporary). Experiment and report back

If floating the ground doesn't work, then maybe a power supply issue? Can you try your NUC power supply from your previous NUC on the new one?
Good news, swapping the power supplies did the trick! The previous NUC had a 2-prong plug while the one with the hum had a 3-prong plug, I don't know if that is the reason. Anyway, I am back in business. Thanks all!

Which power supply did you buy? This may be a problem with all of those models

(cheap Chinese imports here in AU got returned, they weren't even certified, copy fake cert logos and all, the seller has since attempted to 'pay me' to change my review to favourable!)

The one that was recommended in the other thread:

This is the one on Ebay US (free shipping $13.90):

Well, got mine in and hooked up. Seems to take a long time to boot up, so it probably won't be used much in demos where I need to change sources.

I rigged it into my Marantz 7706, Atmos tracks are amazing.

Fiddling around, I discovered the cursor and some not-too-clear icons at the top of the screen. Clicked on a bunch of them, and now it's stuck repeating the same song. Re-clicking on the repeat icon does not clear it out. Lyrics are odd - big fonts, wacky colors, and not quite in sync.

Still not connected to my NAS, but that might be NAS settings - a known issue with my other streamers (Oppo 105, Marantz 7706 and Roku Ultra).

It’s on my list to write-up a How To connect to a NAS. (I have my wife’s brother and family staying here for the Grand Prix, no spare time…)

There are multiple ways to do connect Kodi, I’ve always used NFS, set each NAS Shared Volume to Allow access to each devices IP Address. The NAS then can be accessed by each device you’ve allowed.

I don’t like the ‘new’ icons either. They were changed about a year ago. They are not easily recognisable.

Sounds like you have ‘repeat’ turned on. I did a Google Search (it’s a bit harder than ‘Fiddling around’) and I did see a reference to Repeat not being a simple on/off Google but a triple toggle: none, all, one

When I clicked on the icon, the number 1 appeared in it. But the song kept repeating until I went back to the list and selected another song, which then played repeatedly. Clicking on the icon again made no difference. Tried several times.

Yeah, the F1 race is a big deal. I’ve been to a handful, but not since F1 quit Long Beach.

They are supposed to be Karaoke style. When you play lyrics its often a mixed bag. Sometimes they sync perfectly, sometimes they dont. It depends on who created them and how well they were timed. There is a delay adjustment, but a never use it.

It uses scrolling lyrics first, if it can find them. If not you have to do the scrolling. Press the down button and it gives them to you line by line. Sometimes you get no lyrics found. Rarely you get some totally off the wall wrong stuff.
