You make a compelling argument, sir.
From what I understand -- and I'm almost certain -- this is purely a remaster.
That's what they said about Monster before it was released

Weren't there sound issues with the Monster blu-ray?
No on Monster they made it very clear that there was a new stereo mix done by the producer. They even released remixed tracks ahead of time. That's what they said about Monster before it was released
I´m very happy that i saw this thread this week and could by it. I haven´t compared the Bluray to the DVD-V but as it now is lossless that is a benefit in itself. Also there are some videos included which as on Automatic for the people can be played with the surround sound. This is my favourite R.E.M album and i think it sounds as fresh as when it came out. Unfortunately i cannot say that about all of their albums
OK i have now seen that my disc is actually an real DVD-A and should be lossless. The DVD-Audio is also lossless.
It has the same mix. For me the Bluray has a more steady bass but that is most likely because my player handles blurays better than DVD-A.So can anyone confirm if the mix is the same between the DVD-A and the Bluray yet?
