This was originally supposed to go live on 8/31 (exact day of the 20th anniversary), but Apple Music had exclusivity for 30 days. The Atmos version was completely remixed from the multitracks by Eric Schilling, Michael Romanowski, and Herbert Waltl - it's not adapted from the Al Schmitt 5.1 mix that came out on SACD and DTS DVD.

This is a great recording!
Bought it late last night at IAA. Have not listened to the MKV's yet, but the MP4's sound wonderful via my phone with headphones.

Yes, indeed, the Atmos version is a completely new mix, not an adaptation of Schmitt's 5.1 schilling, Romanowski, and Waltl did an amazing job, you can clearly hear the spatial quality. If you have a good Atmos setup you’ll feel the difference. Highly recommend it. For those curious – Apple Music had exclusivity for the first month, but now the file is available as a lossless download. The Atmos digital version sounds truly incredible compared to previous releases.;)

I am playing the .mkv files on my Oppo 203 using the 'movies' option. The first second or so from every track is cut off. I've noticed it on other downloads with audio and video. Has anyone else experienced this? I'll try stripping off the video and see if it makes any difference.

Edit: Yes, stripping off the video (Using MKVToolNix) fixed that issue!
