You guys certainly realize that there isn't the slightest chance of getting that over the line.
I do love that William Bolcom Gershwin album.
Solo piano in quad?
It's all about sales, correct? I can't see any of these getting any traction. Just keep the good ones coming, like you've been doing. 🙂

It's actually (surprisingly?) a pretty great sounding album. Not to mention historically significant. But I don't know how they did it....

Audiophile nutcase Michael Fremer did a long interview with Marc Aubort about 15 years ago, and while it doesn't get into quad it talks a lot about his philosophy, which was basically two mics for stereo recordings and four for quad, ie. the polar opposite of what Columbia Masterworks and RCA Red Seal were doing, for the most part.

Also, this article at PS Audio talks a bit about Aubort's Vox/Turnabout recording of Ravel's Daphnis et Chloe/Bolero that MoFi reissued on SACD 20 years or so ago, with a bit of information on the recording mic'ing process:

"For those readers with access to an SACD player, Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs issued a multichannel SACD in 2003 that also includes Bolero, Pavane pour une infante defunte, as well as Daphnis et Chloé Suite No. 2, but without Alborada or Menuet Antique. This is a noteworthy release as Aubort set the choir in Daphnis offstage and captured the sound with two rear-facing mics for the two rear quadraphonic channels. Listeners with a multichannel set up at home will hear the sound of the choir coming from behind. This should sound even more spectacular than the original quadraphonic sound release. I have not heard the SACD, but all the reviews I have read have been positive."

I think we've been promised a Beaver and Krause two fer. A left field choice.
Add David Gates first and most of us will be happy.
There has been so many releases this fall who can keep up.

I don't know that it's gonna be in February, but yes we have been promised a twofer.
But Hey if it is,.... does that mean we'll only get 3 discs?

It's been a busy 6 - 12 months of steady releases - many of interest. I could keep up, but my budget might not cut it. I'm thinking some (or a lot) of this newer surround stuff might be streaming later. It's good to be selective.

I know there’s a bit of stigma around “greatest hits” albums because they don’t have the full experience of the original albums and are just “Cliff Notes” of the artists’ careers. Some listeners might feel that the non-hit stuff is just filler, but IMNSHO, that depends on the individual album.

That said, I’d pick up most “greatest hits” albums that Quadio made available.

You might have a point , but back in the 70's most every large label released a large number of quad greatest hits albums.
A quick check of the Quad Discography shows many artists with best of's.
WEA artists such as ; Bread , Chicago , Judy Collins , The Doors , Aretha Franklin , Jethro Tull (not in the vault), Gordon Lightfoot(as previously mentioned , n/a), The New Seekers , and Carly Simon .

Previous Best of WEA artists fr/the 70's include ;
The Beach Boys , and Frank Sinatra, and ELP Welcome Back My Friends (live)

ForagingRhino said in the past , he would love to get Vanguard 's ;
Country Joe And The Fish -Life And Times From Haight Ashbury To Woodstock .........well make that two of us !!
And they had a few best of's, such as , 2 by Country Joe And The Fish , also The Clancy Brothers, Joan Baez , and Jean Jaques Perry.
So I would just love for Warner to obtain Vanguard Records Quad Catalogue.

On December 10, Mosaic Records is releasing Classic Vanguard Small Group Swing Sessions, its first release exploring the Solomon Brothers' short-lived flirtation with jazz. So Concord/Craft is willing to license material from Vanguard's impressive back catalogue, but the Welk Music Group apparently sold its classical titles to another label.

Looking at this from a historical point of view , we have so far received THREE of the "unreleased quads"from 50 years ago.
Something to also be very happy about, for me as a quad collector.

And with more on the way ! 👌😊
Which three? historically, I count four. And I think that there are more, like maybe a Gentle Giant or a Nectar or some other odd band no?

Spectrum
Bloodshot
Energized
Laura Nyro - Eli And The Thirteenth Confession

Being that this is a thread which is dedicated to Rhino Quadio releases.....

The three previously unreleased Quadio's released so far ;

Joni Mitchell -Miles Of Isles
Foghat-Energized
J Geils Band-Bloodshot

Four if you want to count Billy Cobham-Spectrum but Rhino has yet to release this as a Quadio.

Outside of Rhino there are definitely more. But I think that is best discussed on another thread.
