This is going back to Sept of '16 but I think the Doobie Bros. Quadio box project has been shelved. I heard about that possibly being released a few years ago as posted back in '16 but nothing has come about it. And on the prices of 4.0 SACD's from AF, they're outrageous now for the OOP albums. You can still download some on Acoustic Sounds website cheaper but they're limited. I was hoping to find BW&T's Greatest Hits which I never got around to buying but isn't available for download. Lucky I got what I could in 2015 before AF went under.

According to a very recent post, Foraging Rhino has stated that the Doobies QUADIO BD~A boxset is in the works and will be released but was delayed because of the recent Doobies BD~V release LIVE AT THE BEACON THEATER.

Patience, my man. It's forthcoming!

I just thought it rather odd they weren't included and I sometimes play RBCDs when I'm away from my main system and on my computer. No big deal, though.

IMO..it's the perfect offering...either a 2CD set...a DVD plus 2CDs...or the blu ray...if you want the CDs....buy them along with the blu ray and it's about the same cost as the DVD-CD set..

Does anyone know what kind of sound on bluray...is it in surround???

I just read about the Quadio Box being delayed and that's actually what I meant. Sorry to be so negative about things but some of the Quad's I wish I could see released haven't when others by the same artist have. It's also sad to see that lately Dutton has only been releasing mostly elevator music which is also frustrating to see. Art Garfunkel but no Paul Simon ? Frustrating. Sorry to drift off topic.
Welcome to the forum, and no you are not being negative, just honestly speaking your mind, some of us, many of here us respect that. And while Dutton is considered an Easy Listening / Orchestral / Classical label, they do throw us rock & pop & R&B fans a bone every once in a while when we are lucky. Many of us like you are also alarmed by the fewer rock / pop releases from the label lately.

The surround releases will often surprise us with things unexpected. Sony Japan could announce something (old quad) really cool while we are all waiting. Or a 1969 Beatles album in all new 5.1. Or... after a long wait, that Doobies 4 album box in quad could shake.

For those that have access to PBS stations....the performance at the Beacon will air in JUNE

Listen to The Music for FREE on PBS....Thank you CLINTY!

I think the Sony Japan releases are a little pricey, plus you have to pay for shipping as well that isn't cheap. That's just me. I've seen some up to $100 on eBay and Amazon. That's just too high for my wallet.

The Miles Davis was two discs - so I didn’t feel so gouged. And the material was so good in quad. That one was worth it. And I would buy a Santana in the format in a second.

yes they weren't cheap but still it was to me worth every penny to have things the calibre of Jeff Beck's "Wired" and "Rough and Ready" and Miles Davis' "Bitches Brew" in discrete Quad master tape quality.. totally phenomenal Quad re-releases imho

I totally agree with that too......I have all those titles...

It would have been great if Rhino released a box set of the Quad albums, along with the Live at the Beacon, together, this month with listing it as a limited edition. Then, in November, released the CD/BD set and separate BD. I bet they would sell way more of the Quadio box sets. They could even title it, The Doobies - Past & Present.
