Not a musician by trade, exactly, but plenty of music in his act, and he was no slouch on the guitar. (Look up his appearances with Glen Campbell.) He also hosted a brilliant episode of Soundstage in 1976 with Flo & Eddie, and he appears on more than one of the old Warner Brothers Loss Leaders collections. And of course Wrecking Crew ace Tommy Tedesco played ex-con guitarist Tommy Marinucci in Fernwood 2 Night's house band, Happy Kyne & the Mirth Makers.

Mull did a "Live from the Record Plant" set on KMET in 1973, but I don't think it was one of the quad broadcasts.

Here's the famous Tom Waits episode of Fernwood:

I wish someone would upload to YouTube the version of "Talk Dirty to Me" that aired on a Smothers Brothers show November 1, 1980. He sat in a chair playing guitar and singing while a scantily clad woman translated the lyrics into ASL. Or at least she pretended to do that, I'm afraid I don't know ASL and can't say for sure that she really did it.

I have the audio nicely preserved (thank you, Pioneer TVX-9500!) but I'd love to see the visuals again.

At least there's this one from three weeks later.
