I listened to it for the first time today. It will be the last! This is a huge pile of <bleep>, he's trashed his legacy. These are not "the deeds of a man in his prime". A friend who is a Water's fanatic said he'd never listen to it again, and said that the gig he went to was possibly worse! I'd rather listen to the Final Cut on auto repeat.

I had a moment of madness when I ordered it as I got the LP&CD, as the unrelated lock down sessions sounded good. So I've got a coaster & once I've bent the LP into shape a bowl or a Frisbee.

Not listened to it yet. My take on Waters is he's great on lyrics, not always so much on music. I always got the sense he felt "held back" in PF from comments after departing from them. Maybe just his worst instincts filtered out? IDK.
I give him due credit for his successes, and his failures.
In my book "The Wall" doesn't stand as well as "Quadrophenia", but it ain't shabby.

"Quadrophenia" is a stone-cold masterpiece, and as Townshend himself asserts, "it was our last great album." I have very mixed feelings on Roger, given what an abrasive crank he's become, but I gotta honor his important, ESSENTIAL contribution to Floyd's body of work through "The Wall." He was getting aggressively hostile on "The Wall," and he tipped into full spite afterwards. I have zero patience for his post-Floyd output, he's just turned into a bug-eyed kook who I'd cross the street to avoid.

IMO Dave Gilmour's first solo LP & second, "About Face" were OUTSTANDING & picked up the true spirit and presence of the band.

Nothing like releasing something that no one has asked for. I bought the cd and couldn't even listen to it once. Total crap.

I was deeply annoyed with how good the Atmos mix of Redux was. May pick it up on disk if it is offered outside the box set.
