I love this thread, or do I? I just did a very easy tally, per my spreadsheet. US $3166.06. Doesn't include the DV titles I just bought as I haven't added to the spreadsheet.
$1814, also doesn't include the new DV titles or Quadio. And I have cut way back from previous years. No Who's Next for me...

To quote my dad, “Six months after you retire, you’ll be so busy you’ll wonder how you ever had time to go to work.”

I’ve been retired for eight years, and I keep looking for leisure time.
I don't understand those people who retire and are bored to death with nothing to do. I never have enough time in a day!

I knew you'd come through with the spreadsheet numbers! :bowing::hi

These costs are simply the overhead of a life well-lived.
One could do the same for restaurant meals, grocery store bills, alcoholic beverages, etc.

The Electric Ladyland LP I bought 55 years ago with lawn-mowing earnings was a better investment than the soft drinks & fast food I gave up for it. 👴

Well said. I've made collections, sold them, regretted it, made further collections, et al. Made this particular collection over past 4 years and am damn happy with it.
Got to an age that its for my decendents, for when I snuff it.

Hope they enjoy

This years been pretty easy on the wallet.
Built a new PC for my music serving etc. All together I probably have about
$1500 in it. I reused my old monster sized Cooler Master Cosmos case and 11tb of SSD
so that saved me a bundle.
Upgraded my TV/Monitor to a 85" Samsung for another $2500
There's probably another $500 or so in odds & ends I can't think of right now.

Some folks like fancy cars or vacations, I drive a 20yo Ram pickup and love my music.

Quite simply, an arm and a leg.

And I'm enjoying every single farthing I've spent.

When the time comes, my collection is going to my 20yr old younger brother, as I gave him the bug 5 years ago. But just hold on there, I ain't going anywhere just yet. Not while SDS, DV and Rhino are chomping at the bit.

What a year 2023 is!! :SB

My 62 year old and 57 year old brothers, plus my 50 year old sister, have no interest in surround music, and think I'm mad .................... they may be right!

That stack of unopened box sets surely doesn’t help!

Imagine if they knew @GOS or @edisonbaggins! And then, @fredblue is mad in so many ways!
