I saw BB at a jazz club in Tampa. I was on my way to Curtis-Hixon Hall to see a rock concert - don't remember who- when I spotted his name on the Marquee. So a few days later I made the trip back to Tampa to check him out. It was awesome.
I saw him 14 times. All were excellent. Sat and talked with him on the bus after a show one rainy night. His oldest son Robert lives near here.

Brand New Release 2024- John Hammond at the Boarding House San Francisco 1972.
Super good acoustics and just the right amount of crowd noise.
I purchase all of Bears Sonic Journals as they come out, never disappointed.
Originally you could get DSD Downloads from Acoustic Sounds but that stopped, now just CD's.

I’ve got the new vinyl version in the mail. Hoping to see it by Monday or Tuesday.

During the pandemic, I read a few “history of the blues” books which sends you down a path toward new music.

The last number of weeks turned out to include a lot of blues purchases, leaning heavy on Hopkins.

Kind of hard to see, but the pile is:

Hopkins - The Singles Collection Vol 1 & 2 (149 songs / 7 hours of music right there)
Hopkins - Lightnin’ Strikes
Hopkins - Blues in my Bottle
Hopkins - Last Night Blues
Rough Guide to Big Bill Broonzy
Mississippi John Hurt - 1928 Sessions
Best of Little Walter
