Try Maazel/Berlin The Ring Without Words on Euroarts blu ray (DTS HD Master Audio Surround 5.1). I found shopping for it confusing but it seems available at Amazon and hbdirect for about $10.
I think I have 2 recordings of this and I heard it live with the Czech PO in Prague some years ago. Somehow, it seems longer than the uncompressed Ring it is drawn from.
Concise excerpts suit me better.

Well, as long as it’s not too painful. LOL!!!

So in those furtive moments, Brett, when the Fur Flies and the Claws come out you can always play

Singers are also welcome in Wagner! The OP might be content with the single track.

I couldn't find the Trauermarsch a la carte in multichannel download. I'd be tempted to spend the buck or two on the individual track from eclassical, 7digital, Naxos, etc and upmix.

Here it is! "Trauermusik" not "Trauermarsch." The OP can select track 13 in Studio Quality for 5.1 FLAC.

I bought this cheap 4CD collection for my wife some years ago and as we'd had a classical outing last night, I thought I'd have some of this playing through the house this morning. When I was checking which CD to put on next I noticed the Stereosurround insignia and wondered what this may mean? There seems to be no further information on the disc. Anyone familiar with this? Seems that it is a Dolby compatible matrix?

The StereoSurround has compatibility with I think Dolby Surround (one of them , Sonik Wiz?)
The decoder that goes with that logo is the Shure Home Theater series. HT 5000, 5200 and 5300
Thread on those decoders
I think it is pretty similar to Dolby but without licensing fees, which Dolby eliminated anyway to crush the competition (if I have the story right)

I discovered that I had previously picked up a sampler of that format in one of my record store raids. Probably for fiffy cents.

Yup.
The encoder is extremely close to Dobly surround matrix allowing for a few added features like pan potting to as opposed to simply 4 inputs. Also there is a bass shuffling circuit that does what I can't tell exactly. Probably buried in a patent somewhere.

The decode followed the basic Dobly requirements but the most significant feature was direction sensing & gain control that surpassed Dobly licensing requirements. Also instead of a single rear surround output there were two & they had the very slightest difference in delay between them to de-localize the rear ch sound.

The disc will have good compatibilty with origiunal Dobly matrix decoder, DPL II or Surround Master.

Edit: Read more about it here:

BTW, a BIG Thank you to ubertrout and/or humprof who directed me to the Sono Luminus website sale [ends today] where I was able to buy these BD~A discs for as little as $7.99 and also picked up 20 original Dorian RBCDs for $30. Many pleasurable hours of QUALITY listening ahead.

It was a truly amazing sale. 35% off the entire catalog--including (I think) some items that were already marked down, as well as pre-orders. And it went on for two months! I love that label.

The sale is still on and silly me didn't take advantage of the further 35% off ..... thought those $7.99 BD~A/RBCD combos were THE bargain. I might just place another order because at those prices, a TRUE STEAL. BTW, they did not charge me sales tax and s/h for my entire order [including those 20 Dorian CDs in boxsets] was $11.50 which was shipped priority mail.

I'm looking for a multi channel recording of "Siegfried's Funeral March" from Wagner's "Gotterdammerung." Any suggestions?
Probably not a first choice, but this one is still enjoyable. There are some INFORMATIVE REVIEWS about the music on amazon.

When you’re finished swashbuckling on the seven seas, you might want to give Korngold’s other music a spin in Tactile Surround. Exquisite performance of this beautiful Late Romantic/Expressionistic music. No bandages required! ;)

Well Brett, this release is so much more accessible than some of those obscure titles you 'excavate' from Middle Earth!

I'm only interested in bona fide "Crack the Whip" titles!

Now moving onto this nice performance of Brahms’s piano quartets. And yet... I have to say Tacet has spoiled me with their Real Surround recording. This Brahms set from the Eudora label sounds like half a recording with its ambient mix. To be sure, the fidelity is good and all that. However, listening to it just after TACET’s Mozart piano quartet recording, I’m left wanting more. Why do they scrunch all the instruments together on one side of the room!!!??? The thickheadedness of people is Incredible!!! 😵 😣 :p

Organ Wars: The Music of John Williams - Mazzon

I got this one today. It’s pretty good. But, it’s not the flamboyant “organ spectacular” recording that some might be hoping for. Several pieces are rather low key, not a lot of fireworks to test your speakers like an old Telarc recording. It’s more for fans of organ music and of course fans of the music of Star Wars, etc... The 17-year old Raimondo Mazzon skillfully plays these famous pieces as he navigates the world of John Williams’s film scores that were thoughtfully arranged by Fabrizio Castania. Here and there Mazzon’s playing could use a little more flair and depth of feeling. But his playing is surprisingly mature for someone his age. The surround mix is immersive and slightly close miked. It has a strong presence while still giving the organ space to resonate. It’s not a discrete mix like Tomita’s Quad albums, but I can warmly recommend this to anyone interested.
