I've really enjoyed their work. I don't really need another Beethoven cycle (in fact, I just purchased the Miro cycle in 24/96 stereo, as mentioned), but I might buy it as a bundle when done anyway.

What complete Beethoven quartets are available in surround? Any in addition to Quartetto di Crimona, Prazak Quartet, and Tokyo Quartet?

Well, speaking of Apple Music: I could've sworn I saw at least one of the volumes of the Berg Quartet's cycle in the "Classical in Dolby Atmos" "room," but now I can't find it.

Of the complete sets from DG/Decca and Warner--two labels going all out on remixing high-profile back-catalogue titles in Atmos--none (Takacs, Berg, Emerson) is marked as Atmos. But that can be deceptive: if some tracks, or some of the component albums, are Atmos and some aren't, there's no way to tell just by scrolling through them, since the Atmos logo doesn't actually display until you play the track in question. Takacs sounds good through the Dolby Surround Upmixer, though...

Edit: wait--here's Berg's Opus 95 album (it keeps appearing, then vanishing, as I scroll down and then back up!)

Tacet has a cycle with the Auryn Quartet on four DVD-Audio discs, super discrete/active mixes.

Edit to add: I'm a little critical of some of Tacet's recordings as being mediocre musically. The Auryn Quartet recordings are definitely not, and in fact I've found them to be excellent on their own merits without the surround element considered.

Gramophone's 2021 Spatial Audio winner: Stile Antico, The Golden Renaissance: Josquin Des Prez. The winner is perhaps a bit suspect, since it's only available on Apple Music. (Indeed, the entire category--which employs Apple's trademarked term rather than "surround" or even "immersive"--exists "in association with Apple Music.") Still: it is a nice recording.

His latest album doesn't have a surround mix--more's the pity--but his previous one, Black Noise, does, and his work was also featured on several Matt Haimovitz albums, including Meeting of the Spirits, one of my favorites of the Pentatone Oxingale series.

Major story on NPR's Morning Edition today about the Boston Modern Orchestra Project and its label, BMOP/sound. I wish the label's surround mixes were more noteworthy, but the important thing is that they're recording works that no one else would.

I just "discovered" Vaughan Williams' "The Lark Ascending" via Iona Brown (RIP) which I have on an Angel XDR cassette which I have to transplant to a new shell cause it's one of those that keeps stopping on my deck because there's too much tension. The cassette is nowhere to be found on Discogs...
So I kept looking and found Iona's wiki page and what she said about performing "The Lark Ascending"... I found the 1976 recording on utoob and it's sublime...
I found that there is no Quad version but I did find a version by Hilary Hahn on MCH SACD but my educated guess is that it's probably an "Audience" mix cause it's a Deutsche Grammofon disc.

Can anyone confirm this? cause if it's an "Audience" mix I'd rather get Iona's version with Sir Neville Marriner...
