Wonder if the LSO will ever release any of their SACD/BD~A sets again, this time in ATMOS on the BD~A?

What do you think of the recording, humprof?

BTW, thanks for the Apple link...listening to the samples, what a dynamic recording most especially the Golijov. Seems the recording engineers have finally tamed the formerly tepid Barbican acoustics!

They've been doing a lot of these with a hi-res "bonus disc" of sorts. I picked up the Friederich Gulda box that had his Beethoven concerto cycle on BD, for instance.

Made it back to the Princeton Record Exchange for the first time in about a year. The pop audiophile stuff was pretty picked over, but classical was abundant. They've stopped putting classical SACDs separately so everything was really cheap - I paid $130 for all of this and 10 RBCDs. There's still a ton there...

I've begun using the barcode scanner in the Discogs app to track my collection. You can keep your collection private, and apparently it's possible to export to a spreadsheet, though I haven't tried that yet.

I use the HRAudio.net library feature. Using the Barcode Scanner app I can set the custom search to HRAudio.net - Barcode Lookup and quickly check or add.

I believe so but you have to become an active member.

I don't think so actually...they had it for a bit and shut it down. They have essentially every SACD though, and those are the hardest to keep track of because they're by far the most numerous.

Intriguing to say the least, ubertrout and you are correct in assuming the BD~A/V is divided into two sections one containing Pure Audio BD~A in 5.1 and ATMOS....and a LIVE Concert Video from Tanglewood.

On my MUST BUY list!

I think that I saw that last summer. (I don't know if she played more than one night there). I am not the greatest Tanglewood fan but we were in the neighborhood for the Williamstown theatre thing. Visiting again at the end of the month

I'm not much of a Classical guy, but I just love this gal's style. So of course I had to have this blu-ray (Nacho pounces)

Ripped its 7.1 Dolby TrueHD and down mixed to 5.1; a couple more dbs to the rears and it's sounding like I'm in the middle of the Orchestra.
