I passed on this when it first came out and I'm not sure why, because for the sheer sake of superhuman musicianship and musical interplay, I can't think of a recent musical presentation that comes even close. Chris Thile - mandolin/guitar/vocals/fiddle (Nickel Creek, Punch Brothers), Yo Yo Ma - cello (Yo Mama), Edgar Meyer - bass & piano & Stuart Duncan - fiddle/banjo/mandolin - play a unique blend of bluegrass/americana/celtic/classical/ and ____ your genre here. The level of musicianship is unparalleled and the communication between the players on stage is joyful to watch. The uncompressed 5.1 PCM mix is standard live ambience in the rears but you'd have to be tone deaf not to be blown away by this show.
