A player who always amazes me is Vita Vea. The man is enormous at 6 ft 4 in, 347 lbs. You can always find him on the field. LOL. It's like getting hit by a fast freight train.

Derrick Henry amazes me even more. He's also like a freight train, yet moves like a gazelle when he gets in the open field.

This Washington rookie QB Jayden Daniels is remarkable. I would like to have him on the Jets....See how long it takes to ruin his career.

Yes, Vita Vea is the 'immovable object' . How do you get him out of the away when you are trying to run there?
Henry is unreal. Great stiff arm. That guy for Philly also had a good stuff-arm he put on the GB db yesterday! Got him 3 times,...Why people go high on Henry instead of trying to wrap up I'll just never know...
Well, I sort of do.
1. Poor technique is taught in HS & colleges.
2. They all want the big hit on the offensive guy
3. To avoid shoulder injuries (.. allegedly?)
4. Tackling isn't practiced enough by the pros

You mean healthy & rested with all their best players? I'm pretty confident about this, no matter what RickyPicks might say. There are various signs posted at Chiefs HQ: KEEP YOUR EDGE. If the Chiefs can't beat the Texans, they had no business to be in the play offs anyway.

Having said that I'm still glad the game is afternoon Saturday instead of late Sunday. It can be torture waiting for the game & I'm glad to see it earlier than later.

Who is gonna end the Chiefs "dynasty"? I think that will come from within. DC Steve Spagnuolo who has been extremely important to the teams success is being actively courted by more than one team to be HC. Which he always said he wanted to return to. Then Kelce will be the next to go. He's getting older, doesn't need the physical abuse, and has so many side business' going on right now he will do fine in retirement. Mahomes will be around a while but Reid will probably call it quits before he does. And so the talent will dwindle away rather than being taken.

At any rate, just as interested in seeing the Lions vs Commanders game later that day. I am of course looking forward to Detroit's victory in that game.

GO LIONS!
With a good GM the Chiefs can always reload!

Great article about how Arizona is able to get their stadium ready for the Rams -Vikings game with only 5 days to prepare. The goal being to make it as close to a Rams home game as possible.

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6055234/2025/01/13/rams-vikings-nfl-playoff-game-moved-la-fires/

It may be behind a paywall, but the highlights for me include:

  • Calling 3500 stadium employees to come work the game.
  • Painting the field like a Rams home game
  • Setting up all the Rams video board graphics
  • Using the Rams home PA announcer
  • Sending 2 Cardinals jets to pick up the team, families (pets even), and crew.
  • Stocking up the concessions to feed 60,000.
Quite a monumental feat. Apparently the NFL prepares for contingencies like this well in advance.

The Rams and Cardinals are teams that have moved all over the place anyway, so LA, StL, Glendale, wherever...

I don’t feel the Ravens have been jinxed at all. We make the playoffs our fair share of the time and, for a team that’s been around less than 20 years, we’ve won 2 Superbowls. How long have the Bills been around @JohnN and how many SBs have they won?
As for bad weather, that usually favors the team with the best running game. Luckily we have King Henry and Lamar.
BTW, those 2 Superbowls came in 2001 and 2013, twelve years apart. Damn, it’s 2025…we’re due.

I was referring more to the Ravens postseason history in the Lamar era. As they say, what have they done for you lately? Can this be the year? 🤔

So who is everbody picking for tonights game? Im going with Rams.
Rams for sure.
