I took a risk and sunk some funds into bobblehead replicas of my greyhounds, so that my wife has them on her desk back at headquarters (she runs a company out of Skokie when she’s not in Leadville). About a dozen photos of each hound, an 8-week wait, and the results are really amazing - every mark I asked them to include, expressions that match each, and fur coloring patterns that match (see attached images with the hounds meeting their replicas).

Where did you get them made? Do you have a link?
I’d love to get one of my dog. They are really cool.

Well, Katt has developed masses on her mammary chain. They are growing and ulcerated, so we've put her in a onesie to keep her from licking them. The vet says Katt is not strong enough for surgery (Katt is 17), so we are giving her lots of loving. She's such a good girl. I've really grown to love her.

Get better soon, Katt. I hated cats until I moved in with a woman who had a cat. Now I'm such a softie. I got a little teary eyed reading this post.

Sad to hear. I’ve had to say goodbye to several furry friends over the uears, and it’s always tough. Tougher yet to decide it’s time to say goodbye. 17 is a pretty good run, though. That seems to be about how long our cats lasted, barring accidents. We did have one who was over 20, though (she adopted us as an adult, so we never knew how old she was).

I'm not sure how much time Katt has left, but i'm making sure she gets pampered all day long. One of her guilty pleasures--solitaire; she's damn good at it, too!

I tried to teach one of my cats to play checkers. She wasn’t very good at it though. I almost always won.

More good news is that Charlotte and Katt are no longer antagonistic!

Wow, that's awesome! Our 2 cats still can't be beside each other without throwing a fit. 13 years now, no change. They can sleep near each other oddly, can eat near each other. Outside of that, it's mostly a no go. lol

As an adult, I've lost more than a few dogs and cats.
Though I do love the two we have now, I miss Cassie (Boston Terrier mix) & Samara (female Dobie) the most of those who have passed.
No that's a damnable lie. I miss them all.
I had to watch as they all died, except two cats I adopted after Mom passed, they both went out and died in the woods alone.
Listening to the one Boston Terrier crying in pain tore me up so bad I can't even relate.

I know what you mean. Dogs and cats must go to heaven because I can't think of any place I'd call paradise if my pets weren't part of the deal.
Anytime I see someone with a dog that reminds me of one of mine, it brings tears to my eyes.

For better or worse I don't believe in Heaven or Hell. There's enough of hell on this earth.
But I do believe pets have helped keep my sanity. Not always mindful, or even try to be, but they all have their personalities. When they are gone it leaves a big space in your heart.
I know I'm tired of digging graves for pets. It just f'n sucks. But way it is. Treat them kind while they are here, never mistreat them, ever.
