I watched (and listened) to this yesterday, the "Quintaphonic" mix. I can't say that I was blown away although it did have it's moments. The 1080 steelbook version, with identical 5.1 DTS-MA audio, is still available for less than half the price, for those who don't have gigantic 4K screens to ogle Ann-Margret & Tina Turner.![]()

Has anyone compared the 5.1 to the 5.0 mix. I would assume that the "stereo" mix is QS encoded. Has anyone listened to it that way?
Going by memory I think that the recordings on the soundtrack album are slightly different versions from those of the actual movie. The soundtrack album seems to be more polished.
Sad, a waste of time and effort to remix it using an inferior system!I think that album in regards to the stereo ,it would've been Dolby Surround.
Quintaphonic was a failed experiment, unfortunately, and Dolby ventured into that soundtrack , maybe a couple of years later, maybe only one.
I have a listing courtesy Dolby's Roger Dressler , with their movie soundtracks , circa latter seventies , and sure enough Tommy 75 is there.
Me thinks that would make the CD Dolby encoded , as per that time line.
