A milestone. Did we NEED this in Atmos? I don't know. Will you allow me to say that still sounds better and warmer on vinyl? Ok I said it. Then I'm happy to add another šŸ˜ blu-ray šŸ“€ to my collection; well it's fairly discrete and there's definitely content for the heights. Personally I like the few hits on the album and the bonus track Christmas song, I'm not a fan of all the remaining ones, too eighty-glam sounding for my taste. I do prefer these songs in stereo but multichannel mix is not boring. But again my subwoofer fights to stay awake -are these new mixes that light on LFE?-

Well, I gave Fantastic a 9, and this sounds every bit as good, so there ya go. Better than the previous album, with fully half of the LP being huge hits on the radio. Sound is good for an atmos mix being played on my 5.1 rig. I notice the bonus tracks have the complete Music from the Edge of Heaven album with the exception of George's solo "A Different Corner" for some reason. Sure, it's a solo track, but supposedly so was "Careless Whisper" and that's here. Oh well...

Damn! What a release! The original album has FOUR Top 3 singles. And the bonus tracks contain three additional US Top 10s.

The fidelity and surround mix are both stellar. EASY ā€œ10ā€.

Between this and ā€œFantasticā€ it seems we have been given everything Wham! ever released. (With the exception of ā€œA Different Cornerā€, which I suppose is really just a George Michael track even though it was released as Wham! but still odd it was left out). In either Surround or Stereo. I presume we got stereo versions where multi-tracks didnā€™t exist?

in any case, one of the best from SDE yet! Keep the classics coming!

(Any chance ā€œFaithā€ is coming next?)

Although ā€œCareless Whisperā€ is the only track on the album where Andrew has a songwriting credit. (And some sources have him playing acoustic guitar on the track)

But I agree ā€œA Different Cornerā€ should have been included. Unless itā€™s planned for an upcoming ā€œFaithā€ release. šŸ˜‰

I use bass management on my system. Not sure if that makes a difference, but I have no issue with lack of low end on these.

For anyone who's interested 'A Different Corner' is available in 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound on George Michael's [2000] Ladies And Gentlemen DVD... As is Careless Whisper!

Do you know what the mix is like? Because I see it's readily available and cheap. I mean, I realise it's only Dolby Digital, but is it least adventurous?
I really don't know how to answer your question. The mix for the track in question along with the other 22 tracks sound good for the time of the discs release, ie: 24 years ago...

Great, rich sound quality in this BD-A. I was on the fence about the purchase but eventually picked up the Fantastic/Make It Big combo. They both sound great but MIB is outstanding and a much better album. George Michaelā€™s vocals and presence are amazing on this. I love that SDE released these.
