I've been offered a bunch of Japanese stereo pop SACD's by someone I never heard of. Well that's no surprise. But I dunno. Anyway sort of outside the normal methods of commerce.

Meanwhile I'm waiting on speaker wire and WHERE THE HELL IS THE POSTMAN BEING LATE OF ALL DAYS. lol. The first package arrived slit open and empty Wednesday. I hope whoever got my speaker wire puts it to good use and not tying up their hog fence or some such.

EDIT: well I guess that's a good use?

Well they are all by Teresa Teng, who I understand passed at a somewhat early age.
I didn't know Teresa Teng was popular in Japan... She's Taiwanese and as far as I know she is very popular in China.

I knew there was a TON of Chinese Teng SACDs but not Japanese ones...Regardless as far as I know Teng's SACDs are kinda common? At least in China. Maybe @soundboy would know more.

Yes after some checking it appears you are correct. The name probably should have clued me in, right. Turns out it's several box sets from I think 2018 and 2017 each with 8 SACD's. It's under the Universal Music umbrella but released by YESASIA.COM.
For sure, she seems to have been pretty prolific to have lived to only 42?

Well kiss my grits and call me Charlie.
I don't think I mentioned I picked up the double DVDA set of Szoo Wee Dmama from "our" very own Mr. Afternoon recently.
Plus a few downloads, honorable mention of which was "AP Bowling", a venture deeper into immersive music of which I hope he will continue to embrace.

Funny how life goes. But music will always be there for some of us, in some form or fashion. I got by for years with a cheap (stereo) AVR and TT that was overpriced by a few hundred dollars in a pretty little cabinet with a glass door to help rebuild my credit after my ex helped , er, destroy it completely. Well at least I was able to play my Quadrophenia and early Fleetwood Mac albums. Still digging on Kirwan and of course Peter Green.
I love me some Peter Green but “Kiln House” with Kirwan and Spencer is other worldly. The guitar interplay is on par with the pairing of Steve Hunter and **** Wagner. The only guitar playing duo that can top those guys is the Allmans live at the Fillmore.

Oh man, I haven't listened to that in forever. I don't believe I have it handy, it must be boxed up somewhere.

Santana - Abraxas - Sony Japan 7” SACD
Picked up the last Santana I needed and now I’m ready for whatever they decide to release next!

The quad mix on here is good but man I’m really loving the SACD stereo layer through the Surround Master, just a whole lot better balanced and more potent and defined bass that’s missing in the 4.0 and without all the crazy panning, which can get a little annoying after a while. Sonics are delightful!

Herbie Hancock - Headhunters. I unfortunately got screwed. The SACD ASIN number was the Sony multichannel version, I received a Sony stereo version one.
Darn it.
edit : for future reference : SONY SRCS 9339 is stereo only
And ditto. Bought it another time, Sony multichannel. Received a mere CD. I'm getting a refund, but this is getting tiresome. The universe seems to conspire against me having that SACD :)

That is unfortuntaley far too expensive, most items don't ship to France. Price of items actually shipping goes up the roof.
I hope that with Discogs, I wouldn't have the misadventure I had with Rakuten and Amazon, where I carefully checked the EAN number but got nonetheless shipped something else.
(Edit) oh wait one reasonably priced is ! Thanks for attracting my attention, JediJoker !
