Gotcha these are titles where their SACD status is ambiguous (Rounder used the same catalogue number as the redbook, afaik).. so when a seller (in Italy) said they had both SACDs I went for it... they've been on my wish list a long time and life's too short to dilly dally!
That's the mess that is presently on amazon us...the amazon description says SACD..BUT..the individual seller descriptions say CD....
Now check out the amazon listing...the brief amazon description which lists EDITORIAL REVIEWS says SACD...BUT the second photo shows the back cover and no mention of SACD...AND the cd release date is 1990...so it can't be a SACD with that date...check it out here
Usually a "DSD" reference from Amazon means the disc is an SACD. Not quite the same as the good old days of Tower Records where you could go to the store, pick up the disc, see the SACD logo, etc.
Oh well, time marches on.
I've stayed away from George due to some bad feedback on the SACD's...when you get a chance Adam how about an opinion on those 2
They are all over the map on amazon...I've had to individually contact sellers to confirm what the disc was...and sometimes they don't know...I had CD's sent to me in lieu of the advertised SACD's many times..but that's the trouble Brian...time isn't marching for some of us...IT'S FLYING BY..and I need some music..and I want it now:ugham:
That sounds serious.
You can depend on the designations at the audiophile web stores like Acoustic Sounds, Elusive Disc and Music Direct. If one of those sites say it is an SACD, it is!
And they have a good selection of the now out of print SACD titles. I'd suggest starting there and indulging! Especially when one of their many SACD sales is on.

I do like acoustic sounds...and I am positioning myself to avoid their excessive shipping charges with another 3 or 4 disc order very soon..
Chad Kassem at Acoustic Sounds says they sell and stock more SACDs than anyone. He is bullish on the format's future ("SACD isn't going anywhere").

But...but...but..what about that 2 year death estimation for physical discs?...Physical media will have at least another decade...

Additionally - and I know us "old school" guys have the same feelings. There is NOTHING better than holding the physical media. Also, the simple paranoia that my files could become corrupt, lost...accidentally deleted...blah, blah. Believe me...that is all on my mind.
