The Live In London set also includes the original studio album in 5.1, same as what's on the HFPA Blu-Ray:

Good to know, I stand corrected. What you show is the big box set, which I don't have.
I have the standalone bluray, which the poster #57 showed picture of.
I declined the big box set at the time, came in metal film case, very expensive then, now not.
My copy is as shown with TV screen, not getting the studio 5.1.
Being this poll is based on the standalone Blu Ray studio version I suggest mods remove this and all others not associated with Poll Subject.

Disc 1 "LIVE IN LONDON" is blu-ray video.

Disc 2 "LIVE IN LONDON" DVD video,

Discs 3 & 4 are CDs of the show,

And Disc 5 is a blu-ray AUDIO of the entire original Quadrophenia album in 5.1 surround.

Thank you! =)
The version I find in France of 2) the blu ray Live in London has only one disc and no album on it.

So which Blu Ray sounds better or no difference?
Hello Shokhead. I couldn't tell you. My guess is that they sound the same since they are all HFPA. My goal was to find a copy under $100. The HFPA stand alone is rare and over $100 on eBay. The five disc set (pictured above) is more available on eBay with a price about $79. I can tell you, from first hand experience, that I was completely satisfied with the sound from the blu ray in the 5 disc set. Hope that helps. =)

I was lucky to snag this for a good price finally, as I missed it when it came around originally.
Here's what I'm finding.
The bass is plenty loud. The frequency of the bass is not as low as you might expect. It sits more in the mid range. Maybe that's intentional? Possibly faithful to the original intent?
The center channel is a bit wonky. Too dry sounding and in your face at times, too quiet at other times. Inconsistent.
Some of the vocal tracks are different than what's actually on the original album. I really like Helpless Dancer until it got to the last line. What happened there? It's weird.that they put that last line in the center channel. But what's worse is they used the wrong vocal take there and it lost all of its power.
All that being said.
Overall i like it. Its fun. Ill give it 8.

Has anyone had any trouble playing this disc? Mine was fine until I tried recently (probably been a year or two since I last listened). It wouldn't play in my Oppo 103. Gave it a good cleaning and tried again. No luck. Tried my 103D and still no joy. Just to make sure, I spun it in my PS5 and- success! Then I tried my Sony 800 M2 and that worked as well. ???

It always played in my Oppos before. Strange that it won't now but will in the Sonys. And my Oppos have no problem playing other BDs.

There were bad discs on an earlier BD pressing, and it was a ink issue on the surface, and could be seen with close inspection. Is this a very early one and does it look 100% normal in label side?

Since this thread has been revived, I wonder if anyone ever determined if the content on the standalone Blu-ray is essentially identical to what is on the 5th disc in the above referenced Live In London set. Has anyone compared the two?

According to Discogs they are the same, although the matrix/runout codes are different.

I have the Live in London set and can generate md5sums or other that could be compared if someone wants to do the same with the standalone.

I had a copy which worked for about two years then just started showing as no disc present. So I bought the latest issue which sounds the same as I can tell, only difference is the label . I use a Sony 4k blu-ray player for all my discs.

It is an early pressing; got it as soon as they were available. The label side looks ok...

But I seem to remember something about rough edges on these- is that what you're referring to? Because there is some roughness in one spot:

But still don't understand why it won't play in the Oppos but will in the Sonys. Could it have anything to do with the fact the Sonys are newer???

Were you trying to play it on your Sony 4K player? Because mine still plays on my 800 M2.

I have the stand alone. It plays but it has a glitch on the Dolby TRUEHD version. I can't remember at what point but it's an annoying audio drop. The DTS-HD version plays fine. I have a Sony S570 and UBP-X800M2. The glitch happens on both players.

Ours is the exact same as your images there. In our Oppo Bdp 93 and Oppo 203 it plays perfectly. Yup... our Oppo bdp103..it says unknown disc and will not play on it. The actual disc front and back look brand new.
