Best Atmos Track: Iron Out the Rough Spots

This is another album I discovered from listening to "The Album Years" podcast. I'm hearing more and more albums mixed by David Kosten and I am thoroughly impressed. I'm finding him to be my second favorite Atmos mixer behind Steven Wilson. Honestly, he's getting closer and closer. This mix is completely bombastic and I love it. The rears are heavily used on this which reminds me subtly of the Flaming Lips 5.1 DVD release. The Atmos mix is not par for the course but a hole in one!

The USA release CD (which has the LP content) is duplicated by the Atmos mixes on the blu-ray (plus several songs not on the CD. The British CD substituted extended remix versions for 5 songs that are on the USA release. My main issue with the blu-ray is that the original extended remixes were not re-remixed into Atmos. My other issue is that Pino's bass should have been extended deeper into the LFE channel. Overall, however, the blu-ray is a great reissue that showcases and enhances the great songs and production on the original release. The Fabulous Wealthy Tarts never sounded better!
