I got the deluxe 10th anniversary edition of this brilliant album. But I hope that there’s a BR Atmos/5.1/hi-rez Stereo and video stand-alone version being made available too as I think what’ll be on this 25th edition is too similar to the 10th edition. Isn’t that what they did with 10,000htz leg end? 😆 ……. I just checked Discogs and they didn’t do a stand-alone of leg end, one can hope they do for Moon Safari.

This should sound really nice! Is this going to be Atmos mixed by the same gentleman that mixed the BD for '10 000 Hz Legend'? discogs lists the mix engineer as: Tony Hoffer

If this is not a limited release sort of deal, it makes me wonder how I'll never understand the music/Label industry; when an award winning famous rock musician like Mark Knopfler only gets 2,000 limited release on an Atmos disc, but someone like this band (who I'd never heard of until seeing '10 000 Hz Legend' mentioned here on the forum) may have more produced?

Well, while Moon Safari didn't make an impression on the American album charts, it was a Top 10, multi-platinum hit in the UK. This may explain why I haven't been able to find the new edition on any U.S. vendors' sites as of yet. It might not be getting released in the States. It was also highly critically acclaimed. It featured on lots of year-end and decade-end best-of lists in a lot of the major music magazines. I love Knopfler, but new albums from classic rockers don't tend to sell in large quantities.

I too wouldn't have had a clue about the band were it not for QQ, but I've been digging the Atmos mix of this on Apple Music. It's excellent. If I have to buy an import copy to get the blu-ray I'll certainly do so.

No credits on Tidal, however the official AIR YT channel confirms that the Atmos mix was done by Bruce Keen & Gildas Lointier, again.
I'm kind of surprised it was them, as the mix approach is pretty different. They made heavy use of the center speaker throughout 10,000 Hz (the crazy bass sound at the end of "People In The City" is 100% isolated in the center), whereas here it's barely used at all. Maybe headphone compatibility was a greater consideration this time around?

Had never heard of this band before the e-mail from SDE yesterday. Maybe it's because I'm American. Maybe it's because I had been out of college for a good half a decade and had moved beyond the smoke-a-bowl-and-listen-to-music-in-a-dark-room scene, but I listened to it yesterday and within about a minute knew it would sound great with a surround treatment.

(It would also sound great smoking a bowl and listening to it in a dark room, but alas, those days are long gone.)

Can someone point me in the right direction as to figure out how to listen to streaming surround music such as this. I have Spotify but don’t think they do surround. And I have Apple TV+ ( not Apple Music). When I clicked on the links above it’s just the regular version to buy on iTunes or whatever they call it nowadays. Actually finding Spatial Audio on Apple it is really difficult. Or am I stupid?

If you have a ATV 4K, you need a subscription for Apple Music and a surround setup with a AVR to control it.

So sometimes Apple Music notifies you of new releases by artists in your library with a little card at the top of your library. I just got a card for this; a brand new (stereo) DJ mix from Air:
Early Hours is Apple Music’s own DJ mix series that’s their own take on Late Night Tales. If LNT is “what does a late night mean to you”, Early Hours is “what does Early Hours mean to you”.

Worth noting is Air has done both:

Stuff to listen to while we wait for US links/orders to arrive.

Like many of these streaming options, it requires more/updated equipment and another monthly fee...hence why I prefer physical products.
