Please post your thoughts and comments on this 2024 reissue of Air's 1998 debut album Moon Safari.
The 2CD/Blu-Ray edition features a brand-new Dolby Atmos mix of the album by Bruce Keen & Gildas Lointier.

The Dolby Atmos mix is also available to stream on all Dolby Atmos streaming providers.

Nice easy going mellow Electronic-Pop music, sometimes with a slightly 90's Acid Jazz feel to it. Seems nicely mastered. I'm listening to the 7.1 Atmos floor rip from my Blu-ray. I noticed that most songs have content in the LFE except for "2 - Sexy Boy" and "11 - Remember (David Whitaker Version)" which have no LFE content; however the fronts seem to drive the bass just fine for me. The song "8 - Ce Matin LĂ " has good LFE usage that I can really feel.

I like the music, mix and mastering; I'll give it a 9 here.

The music is very good, much to my surprise I like this a lot. Why not a 10? Well, the best multi-channel mixes make the whole greater than the sum of the parts and can achieve a 3 dimensional “they’re inside my head” sound stage. I didn’t get that enough to go all the way to 10. But 9 is really good. And your mileage may vary, but am very glad I picked this up and if you like electronica you should consider this. For some reason, the song “Sexy Boy” sticks in my brain and won’t leave. If this song doesn’t leave my head soon, I may have to bump my review to a 10.

I don't even have an atmos setup - so take my rating with a grain of salt. I remember this album when it came out. Even bought the CD, but haven't played it in at least 20 years. Decent, easy-listening French music which sounds like something certain stores would play in the background while you shopped back in the day. One day I'll get an atmos rig, but not until I move out of this apartment.

Never heard of this band or album before but due to this Atmos release I streamed the album and liked what I heard. Based on this I ordered it at a fair price from a domestic dealer.

Ordering these Atmos releases before release and any reviews is a gambling game - you win some and you lose some...

This one is a clear winner in my book. Good songs, very diverse and a mix of vocal and instrumental. Excellent fidelity to my ears and a very tasteful Atmos mix which uses all speakers in my 5.1.4 setup to good effect.

My favorite songs are La femme d'argent, All I need and the bonus version of Remember. But I would say all the songs are good to excellent.

I voted 9. This comes highly recommended.

10 for me. Really outstanding Atmos mix. Very clean and well done, feels truly enveloping. The extras on the 2nd CD are great. Never heard the Neneh Cherry track before and a lot of the demos are great alternate versions and some awesome covers (AIR did a version of Funkadelic's Maggot Brain????? so cool.) This is one of my favorite albums of all time so to hear it in Atmos is a real treat. Packaging is really nice as well.

An excellent companion piece for lovers of the band Air with surround sound setups. I am listening through a 7.1 setup, and the mix is consistent, faithful, and is able to bring you into its surround sound space without feeling gimmicky.

I personally wasn't as wowwed by it as other mixes in my collection, absolutely do not let that dissuade you from getting this if you're an Air fan. This absolutely is an excellent blueprint for how surround sound mixes can take advantage of the surround sound space without feeling unbalanced while doing it. Atmos mixing engineers, take notes.

Giving this an 9.

I was hoping and praying that this release would have an Atmos makeover.
Well here we are and it is everything I hoped it would be.
I've been a huge fan of Dolby Atmos for nearly 6 years, after I upgraded my 5.1 system in 2018.
This does not disappoint.
Electronic music is made for the Dolby Atmos treatment....if done right.
This is done right.

First time hearing this album all the way through. Love the chill vibe - good music for first thing in the morning or late at night. The Atmos mix perfectly suits the music - plenty of synth swoops and the like going through the height channels and good utilization of the entire surround soundfield. Fidelity is excellent, as expected. One nitpick, I absolutely HATE having to fish out the disc from a tight middle slot in a folded cardboard package - I just know one of these days I am going to rip the package apart pulling the disc out. But don't let that sway you away from getting this, it really is great overall.

Been digging this on Apple music for some months now. But this blu-ray underscores the importance of having something on a physical disc versus streaming it. Even on my modest 5.1 system the blu-ray sounds so much more dynamic.

This is the sort of music that really excels in surround sound and the mix doesn't disappoint. Demo quality stuff. 10.

Rating: 10

Every track sounds amazing on this release. I never heard of the band Air until this Atmos release. I love how chill and relaxing it is. Do yourself a favor and purchase the Blu-ray release. It's a few steps up from the version on Apple Music.

Favorite Track: La femme d'argent

I voted 10.
This Atmos release is everything I look for in music and sound.
Great music, and great Atmos a 10 always.
Full use of height speakers, swirling parts, super active floor, all the things that are important to me.
I also have Air-10,000Hz Legend which is also in Atmos, I enjoyed also.
My listen, Blu Ray rip, ATMOS MKV file, 24bit,48Khz, Dr's are 11, 12's, 13's, 14's.
It's a very good price and I will agree with all above me, especially getting the disc out of sleeve, very hard.

Please keep polls pure to your listening experience only.

I listened to this chillout classic a LOT under the influence. The Atmos mix does a powerful job of replicating the trippy wonderfulness of my recollections of how this sounded blasting through cans or floor speakers or my Beats boom box. Lots of groovy panning and synthesizer surprises popping up all over the room. As noted above, this music is made for Atmos, and this Atmos mix does it right. A sheer delight! So very happy to have this one; it's hella fun and the closest i'll get to an aural hallucination – an absolutely otherworldly blissful ride; get ready to slide right into the flow and go, Go, GO! An irresistible 10!

Great plan. Maybe you can move forward with 2 more E30s. Then up to the E60s when found.
Although i like the idea, i am trying to reduce my wife's ventricular fibrillation! She did head downstairs so i could listen all the way through Air this morning, so one never does know! Yeah, she's 11 years younger than i – her heart can take it!

Clem, I just think women hear differently than men. In all the years I frequented my former high end audio salon in Scarsdale, New York, they only had ONE female customer.

Perhaps QUAD LINDA can have a ❤️ to ❤️ talk with your wife on the unmitigated joys of surround sound!

LOL!
