Listening to this 1960's Blue Note album on (stereo 24/96 DAD.)
https://www.discogs.com/Hank-Mobley-Roll-Call/release/8829044Sounds great, but has a meta data glitch on it- the first song displayed on screen is "Open Sesame", instead should be "Roll Call."

Which one? Going by memory, I think it was released on Compact Disc about three different times.

Anyway, I would suggest you do a search on a comparison. Personally, I purchased those two MFSL Mellencamp discs when they were the ones to buy and they sit in storage now. Going by memory in comparison to the first generation CD, it is comparable to listening to the master tapes directly as opposed to a multi-generation copy.

My CD is the 1985 release, which is the original Polygram West German disc. Great music but gnarly sound so I never listen to it. It is really bass shy with a sizzly high end. Opinions are all over the place:

It's probably not worth spending the extra money on the MFSL. Perhaps Audacity can rescue the Polygram release, but often by the time I've got something sounding right I'm tired of hearing it.
