Please post your thoughts and comments on this new reissue of the album "Unrepentant Geraldines" by Tori Amos.
Originally released in 2014, the album has been reissued as a Blu-Ray Audio disc through the SDE online store complete with both a Dolby Atmos mix and a 5.1 surround mix.

For many, probably not the expected Atmos mix. But ultimately one of the better ones in the #SDE series, very subtly mixed, totaly not aggressive, it completely suits Tori A(T)mos' music. Note the background vocals as an example.

I know a few more titles that would qualify a Atmos mix from the Tori catalogue.
For me a deserved 10 anyway.

Just finished my first listen to the 5.1 mix and am happy with it. The arrangements on the album are pretty sparse so there isn't a lot here to work with. But when opportunities present themselves for some surround activity the mix usually takes advantage. It's tastefully done. Again, it's not like a Tears For Fears album where there's layers of stuff to spread all over the place, but for an album of this nature, the mix is active enough to make for a decent surround experience.

My thoughts as well. I was never a big Tori Amos fan, I have to admit, and this is the first and only in my collection.
The music is pleasant enough, but just doesn't grab me. Maybe further listening will cause it to grow on me.

We have been blessed with so many surround releases this year, and I've not had the time to do a lot of in depth listening except for favored albums. But I keep buying...lol. Expensive year!

While I am not voting, I will just add that I found the Atmos mix to be extremely musical. It is cohesive while offering tasteful use of the immersive space. This is a beautiful album and only gives me hope that other albums from her catalogue will be remixed in Atmos too.

Hope we get soon a physical release of Ocean to Ocean, because it is already done

Was surprised how much I enjoyed this, bought this one blind (I do know a good chunk of her discog) & an album that always seems to appear mid/lower half of her ranked output. I voted a 9.
