It sure might be helpful if pics of the lps were posted with it. There are so many columbia issues. A pain, but would sure help create a needed database.

I've added a photo of "The Spectacular Sound of Four-Channel Stereo" above. I made my photo much smaller than some of the others posted (200 x 200 pixels). I'm thinking that over time, the time it takes to load this thread will increase based on the size of the linked photos. On the other hand, it is harder to see the details of my album cover. Which does everyone prefer - a quick loading page with a basic representation of album covers, or a slower loading page with greater detail in the photos?

Too Cool!

Thanks for the help.
I got home tonight and finally checked the personal email after a week or so and what a surprise! The quad community coming together and sharing their knowledge.

I have provided links from the anthology/sampler site. Look for the green highlighted text as a link.

I am not sure if the links will work for someone who is not registered, so if someone can check that it would be appreciated.

Hi Mark,
I checked as "guest" and I can't see pictures that were "attached" but only the one that was linked (jdmack post #7)

My quad LPs are all buried right now due to some remodeling, but I will dig them out in a few weeks and see what I can add to this list.

In the meantime, there is a GRT Q8 sampler that I swapped a while back, but I believe it's this one (from the discography):
GRT Quad Sampler. Q7101-101 (Q8)
{Also produced for Panasonic with the Same Number}

It's notable for some interesting tracks and also the fact that the track listings on the label do not reflect the actual sequence. This was discussed in an older QQ thread that sorted them out for me.

Proper sequence is:
Mountain - Mississippi Queen
Exotic Guitars - Spanish Harlem
Woody Herman - Light My Fire
John Lee Hooker - Boogie With the Hook
Grass Roots - Sooner or Later

B.B. King - Ghetto Woman
Jack McDuff - Up Up and Away
Lawrence Welk - Can’t Take My Eyes Off You
John Klemmer - And We Were Lovers
Tony Mottola - Michele

Without the tape I can't add a photo, but maybe another member can post one.

Realistic Quadraphonic The Spectacular Sound Of Four-Channel Stereo (SQ)

I have this same album (CQ 10869) with the track listing as listed by Flaquad, but the title on mine is "The Full Spectrum of Quadraphonic Sound".

Zenith Allegro Compatible Stereo & 4 Channel Demonstration Record
Zenith 16302 F3041R
(specially produced for Zenith by Stereo Dimension Records)

I looked all over for the encoding method used on this album, and finally found an "SQ" in the trailout vinyl on side one, but NOT side two -- so side two may have some phasing effects but I'll guess it's not SQ. Haven't listened to it yet.

Side 1 "For use in demonstrating all Zenith 4-channel instruments"
1. A Shade of Brass - Bobby Byrne
2. What the World Needs Now is Love - Today's People
3. Gonna' Make it This Time - Harbus
4. Prelude in A flat Crazy (Classical Variations) - The Mike Quatro Jam Band

Side 2 "For use in demonstrating all Zenith models with "Speaker Matrix. Also compatible for demonstrating 2-channelstereo on any Zenith stereo model"
1. Donna - The Electric Hair
2. Can't Take My Eyes Off You - Bobby Byrne
3. Songs for Singing - Harbus
4. (Sittin' on) The Dock of the Bay - Today's People
5. Time of the Season - Today's People

Thanks for all the updates.

I will add the additions to the discography during the second week in October while I am on vacation, so if you can get any more additions done by then it would be appreciated.

I always list contributors to the discography by name. If anyone would like to be recognized by his or her god given name instead of his or her screen name, PM me.

Thanks for your support

:eek:Thanks for the input and additions.
I appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm as it helps me to get motivated to add additions after a tiring 12 years of updating the discography.
I have updated the main page of the anthology/sampler section for your viewing enjoyment.
I appreciate everyone’s effort so I do not have to dig thru my dusty collection for track listings.

I did not add one addition as I had a question about the catalog number

I could not find a match to the discography and I added these while on vacation. I thought the catalog number seemed like a Q8 or Q4 but is listed as an LP.
If someone could help with the difference of what is listed on the discography and the above title, it will help so I do not have to dig thru the collection.

Just saw your note, Mark.... it's a strange looking number, but it says "PR-M4C-900" on the back of the jacket, the spine, the label, and the trailout area of the vinyl too. Ya got me. Anyone have the Q8 or Q4?
