As a Canadian based Kiwi, it’s pleasing to see this informative and mutually positive thread, and if there was any name change I think ANZACs would be a comfortable collective name. I can thoroughly recommend all the Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, one of my favourite musicians and sound awesome in surround. And agreed that physical surround releases of Split Enz, Icehouse (can anyone recommend White Heat: 30 Hits ?- it’s on my wish list), Paul Kelly, The Hoodoo Gurus, the Church (especially my fave, Seance), the Go-Betweens, Midnight Oil would be awesome. Also Yothu Yindi, Breaks Co-op, straitjacket fits, Fat Freddy’s Drop, The Naked and Famous, Tall Dwarfs and the Chills would also be amazing

12 of its 15 tracks are from Neil's first solo album, so if you like that one it's certainly worth owning. Performance is very good. The mix is definitely discrete. It's not crazy active, but there is some discrete stuff in the rear channels.

I love Crowded House as well as Split Enz and most of the solo Finn stuff. I just wish there was surround releases of the other albums (especially Temple Of Low Men and Together Alone) as I'm not keen on the first album (overplayed/overhead) and Gravity Stairs doesn't do anything for me.

Speaking of The Church, an omission is the DVD of the Psychedelic Symphony concert at the Sydney Opera House, which is 5.1 Dolby Digital as well as a stereo track...

I have the 2CD of Psychedelic Symphony but somehow missed that there was a DVD with a surround track. I just searched online for some time and the DVD certainly is not easy to get hold of now! :-/

Re: Go Betweens. I am just relieved the new box set has a fixed version of Oceans Apart, which had shockingly loud mastering the first time. But yes, surround would be amazing!

Re: Hunters and Collectors first album. That would be great in surround if we could get hands on the multitracks... If/when we get the Live 2014 sorted, I think you will quite enjoy the two tracks from that album that are on there...

Re: Crowded House. Another vote here for Together Alone in Atmos. It has the feel/atmosphere/consistency that would suit the format the best of their work.

The Live Atmos mix is impressive, driving bass/drums and great spread of the many instruments and multi backing vocals. Their music translates to multichannel we’ll but 5.1 isn’t enough. The recording was 24/48 on 38 tracks, multiple mics everywhere, even left and right for keyboards and synth.

I’d love studio albums in Atmos too!

I have that one too. It is great but the music is Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo. A pity it did not include the video for 'Next Exit' though.
