You can reduce the cost to ship UPS by going online and opening an account and printing your shipping label and then dropping the amp at the UPS Store.
Buying a box and having it shipped to NJ from Oregon was $240 <Believe the box was $85>
Printing a label reduced the cost to ship my receiver back to Oregon was $180

Guy at the UPS store told me to do this, as the cost to ship was, approx. $230 according to him
They know me at the store, as Iam in this store couple times a month
And QXR Restore, aka Vintage Stereo called and said my 9001 arrived safe and sound

Hey @Quadgirl !
How did this turn out? How you doing?
Hey! Thanks for asking. I am doing better. I kept the 9001 until January and am in process of a trade. I will report how it turns out since there is a bit of a snag happening, but I don’t want to hurt anyone’s reputation by speaking of it yet. I am working with a reputable person, but communication is sort of slow. He has promised to make things right and I believe him, so fingers crossed I hear back from him this week. I will post when things get ironed out. It has been interesting and I am learning alot about how good equipment can be properly packed and shipped and how to enlist help in lifting things to get them packed right. Meantime I am still enjoying my quad music! Listened to some Enoch Light yesterday - been a while, but I still enjoy those tapes. They were some of my first quad purchases. Thanks again for asking and I will report back. Take care!
Laura
