Release date for The Doors on amazon is now June 30

That is strange because most of the usual places have the old release date...even amazon UK...I checked importcds...bullmoose...acoustic sounds...elusive disc...all with the June 2 release date...but deepdiscount.com has the 30th as well...looks like it's going to be later than expected...

Since the June Multichannel SACDs are coming from two different record companies (Warner and Universal), it wouldn't be surprising if they arrive on different timelines. Even though the goal is to have them arrive at the same time.
As for a "3rd title", there are more Multichannel SACDs in the pipeline - but not for June, they will come later on.

Well the rest of the year after June is wide open, so bring them on I say! :)

No hints?

Nope.....didn't think so :)

An update. The Multichannel SACD of "Best of the Doors" and the Stereo SACD of "With a Little Help from My Friends" have been delayed to June 30th.
Still on the way, awaiting pressing at the SACD replication line in Austria.

WHOA! 7 minutes huh? I'd say that's the full version....awesome!!! While I'm dying to hear the surround.....as much as I love the music....I'll go ahead and check out the stereo as well.....why not?

All this DOORS talk is driving me batty. I want this NOW!

My only complaint...more like a wish...was to include L.A.Woman on this "best of" disc...it was probably because it's 7 minutes and 49 seconds long...I would have given up Soul Kitchen(3:30)..Take it As It Comes(2:13)and whatever time Who Do You Love would be...I'm assuming it would be at least 2 minutes and 6 seconds in length...which would have been enough room for L.A.Woman...of course in the marketing sense you are losing 3 songs and gaining 1..so going from 11 songs to nine songs...but those would be 9 awesome songs

The albums get licensed as they were released in just about every case. LA Woman was not part of Best of the Doors.

Who Do You Love is way longer than 2 minutes. It's almost the longest track on the album.

Speaking of Light My Fire, this is a delightful Fresh Air segment with Ray Manzarek at the piano deconstructing the song:

That was outstanding - thanks. I've listened to him a few other times as well, talking about the making of their music and he always made it really entertaining. Another one of the greats gone too soon. I wish he'd lived as long as B.B. King...

Ray ended up being a very down to earth sort of guy. Very pleasant to listen to in interviews......too bad. I wish they whole band could have lived on....might have been interesting to see how they progressed. My guess is they simply wouldn't fit in the changes in music....I don't know.

I wish Ray could have lived to see this new Quad release...next Wednesday will mark 2 years since his death(May 20,2013)...he would have been pumped up....when he died I told most people I knew that the Doors' died that day...he was the one member of the group that kept the Door's legacy alive in the public's mind...another cancer victim...

I don't know if the public cared at the time--and the band seems to have largely ignored them--but there were two albums credited to The Doors after Jim's death. "Other Voices" (get it?) and "Full Circle". As far as I know they never saw a legitimate CD release, but a few years back I got them both as 24/96 downloads from HDTracks.

I doubt many would prefer them to the Morrison-sung albums, but on their own merits I think they're just fine. In fact, I think the song "Ships w/Sails" is as good as anything the band ever did.

Its almost Stalinesque the way these have been treated.

First official CD release this year as a 2fer

They are not that bad IMHO Ray andRobbies voices aside

For the love of God.....just got an email my pre-order has been cancelled. Can this company figure out how to print enough copies for orders placed well in advance?

That's why I never pre-order. That, and I don't understand paying for something that doesn't exist yet. Remember when that was illegal?
I digress. I've ordered every one I've wanted through Audio Fidelity's website and received every one. Even when they told me they were out of Blood, Sweat & Tears II, somehow, they pulled through and found me a copy. Gotta give 'em props for that!

I decided to give import CDs another chance. They did get me the Labelle and Billy Joel discs today. But....this isn't the first time I've had this problem. I was really hoping Audio Fidelity had figured out their demand, this isn't the first time I had this problem...it's really frustrating how difficult companies seem to make it to give them your money. I'm quite pissed. Come on! We're talking about the Doors here, of course there's going to be high demand.....just f---ing print up a bunch of them and let us buy them, for crying out loud!
