Atmos uses an extended version of it, but the MLP used on DVDA is only good for 5.1 channels as that was the DVDA spec.
MLP is the only option for 24/96 5.1 as LPCM would exceed the max bandwidth for DVD. You’d be okay with 24/48 5.1 LPCMWhat makes MLP preferred over LPCM ?
