Regarding the albums that get a 5.1 mix, interesting what they are. Obviously, we get Camel's killer first few...

Camel 1973
Mirage 1974
Snow Goose 1975
Moonmadness 1976

Then we skip Rain Dances 1977, Breathless 1978, I Can See Your House From Here 1979

Yet, we get Nude from 1981 in surround.

Regardless of the strategy/reasons....getting those first 4 is what I care about. I haven't heard any of the later stuff from Camel. :)
as so often happens there were missing multitracks for those albums - but I doubt we could have managed them all anyway - timewise and budgetwise!!!

That must have been really difficult for you Stephen, in saying nothing for all those months.
Can't wait to hear these little gems from Camel....in surround!!

I liked Camel back in my younger years, and still do. But the relatively high price and no Atmos makes me skip this one. This music is made for Atmos so I wonder why not?

These mixes were completed quite some time ago when Atmos didn't have such a profile as it has acquired more recently, and if we had either the request or the budget to do that the set would never have been finished!!! The planning had been going on for quite some time and I had finished most of it two years ago!!

Atmos is not Stephen's fortè, I believe.
I personally think this is good value for money considering what's in the box set.

Thanks for the clarification. :)

Any chance for stand alone Blu Rays?? I would also take the 5.1 mixes as long as Atmos is not intended to be released.
Going by the current jpc.de price, each blu-ray, if you only buy the box set for them, will cost you 32 euros. That’s a reasonable price for a stand alone. And you get 27 CDs and a book for free!

Having never heard Camel, what’s the best album to start with?
I started with The Snow Goose and became an instant fan. Then, I heard the amazing A Live Record double album! But, Mirage, Moonmadness and Rain Dances are also high water marks for the band. The latter also includes the great Mel Collins (King Crimson) and Richard Sinclair (Hatfield & The North)!
