This morning spun E Power Biggs' Four Great Toccatas & Fugues, then the 1973 QS London Symphony Tommy. Hearing them in their full glory for the first time.

Single super-bright LED, I have christened it The Blue-Eyed Cyclops.

We call that Audiophile Blue. For some reason blue LEDS just sound better.

They are a lot better than they were, basically matching the lifespan of the other colours, if they've been made well.

Filtering line noise is the issue and you will need to add isolation transformers to all the inputs and outputs. Any 12V to 10 V power supply of around 1 Amp will do it.

Well technically I think it can take 12V input. I'll double check that tomorrow but we did design it originally with 12V in mind, I'm just not sure how the current power supply stages will deal with it. Probably fine but I'll get back to you. You'll likely want an inline fuse of some kind if you're taking it directly off the battery 12V, if it's coming off accessory then it doesn't matter quite as much but it's always good practice I find.

More importantly, what you really want to do is get good quality audio isolation transformers for the audio inputs, as car ground going to the chassis turns the whole thing into a bit of an antenna. I did basically design a car version of it at one point with those included on the board, but it hasn't gone into production.
