It's another mixed bag with the Atmos tracks in this set. I'll give you a few examples:

- The Atmos mix of Riders On The Storm on my 7.1.4 system (with actual ceiling speakers) sounds spectacular.

- The Atmos mix of Light My Fire sounds superior to the 5.1 (Perception) mix, but inferior to the quadraphonic mix, especially with a tweek of the bass control.

- The Atmos mix of Touch Me sounds better than the quad mix, but not as good as the 5.1 mix.

I'm taking everything into consideration here including fidelity. I'm glad that I have all of the versions for comparison. Too bad they didn't include the original quad mix in the set for those who don't have the AF disc.
There is no “original quad mix” to this set. This is a different album with a different track list. It simply has the same title.

Just reading through others comments a lot of what i was going to say has been said re the Atmos mix, sort of thin in places, if that makes sense, going back to the Quad a much more solid presentation, (that's with 4 identical mid-sized full range speakers & no sub).

The songs which I found successful for me in Atmos:
Strange Days
Waiting For The Sun
Spanish Caravan
L.A. Woman
Touch Me
also a nod to Hello I Love You & Riders On The Storm (mainly for the thunder)
and mainly I was looking for a trippy presentation (to go with the feeling of the music) and of course I love The Doors dearly.
Haven't sat down & re-listened in 5.1 yet but did go back to the Quad, mostly of the 7 out of 11 tracks duplicated I prefer the Quad

Happy to have this blu-ray 📀 in my collection but as expected they still sound better in 4.0, in my opinion still nothing beats the 2017 singles compilation. Their music is psychedelic I know but this new mix is a little chaotic. For completists remains a must buy though.

This is the first Atmos-encoded disc I own that won’t even let me access the Atmos mix on my 5.1 system. The only options I can select are DTS 5.1 and stereo. I guess I’ll hold onto it for whenever I might upgrade to an Atmos system, but what a disappointment, as I enjoy listening to 5.1 downmixes of the other Atmos releases in my collection.

Never mind…After messing around with the menu, I finally got it to highlight the Atmos option and it’s now playing. Not sure what I did, but I’m glad I’ve got access to all mixes now.

Music is a 10. For me the atmos mix is a huge disappointment and adds nothing over the 5.1. Quad “The Singles” still my favourite as well like many others.
A few tracks towards the end were better - but it's all Pish from me. What a waste of a remix. Bruce must have gone into a cave and recorded it - just some reverb and that's it!? VERY dissapointed.

The 5.1 mix will do for day to day listening.

I fail to understand why producers won't simply expand on the quad productions of certain material rather than come up with new mediocre Atmos mixes. It is not only with the early era songs in this set, but other Atmos releases as well.

When it comes to hit or miss mixes, Atmos takes the cake. More speakers to do even less with?
