This has been going on for decades in the music industry; nothing new. Buy an album only to have it resissued with bonus tracks or as a "tour edition" with a live disc 6-18 months later. It's one of the risks you take as an early adopter.

P.S. With respect to the SDE exclusive series, if you're not buying from them, you're not buying... unless it's a used copy or from a secondary-market (flipper) on eBay.
I realise similar happens but when you're sold an exclusive, it should be an exclusive. I'm aware of special edition CDs with extra recorded tracks, remixes, or live tracks, but not a limited edition exclusive that's later superseded by another limited edition exclusive with a few extra recorded tracks.

I didn't make it clear but I was talking but the non SDE exclusives that I've bought from them. One example is Moon Safari (25th Anniversary 2CD & Blu-ray) by AIR, which I could have got cheaper from Amazon. I will buy such content from Amazon or elsewhere from now on.

Just checking this new 2024 De-Luxe #13A version out from "SDE RECORDS".

The 3 new tracks are:

1- Masque Of The Pink Death
*sort of an instrumental

7- Evil Woman
*a cover of the Electric Light Orchestra song

13- New Moon ([Dark Phase])

The now standard "modus operandi" tell of a Bob Clearmountain mix, by the heavy use of the Center channel;
here's what the 5.1 looks like for song #13

and here's what the Atmos 7.1 floor looks like for song #13:

Looking forward to reviews of this compared to the original. I've always enjoyed ELO's Evil Woman. Also hoping the Atmos of this new version pops up on Tidal.

Actually, I might go have a look...

...Yes, it's there. Cool. And I think the Atmos version of Evil Woman is more enjoyable than the stereo version (which has been on Tidal for some time). The strings in the surrounds are fun.

Interesting that they've mixed the bonus tracks into the setlist, rather than simply added them at the end. It gives it more of a new album feel, rather than just a re-release with some bonus tracks tacked on. The new first track is particularly good and a great scene-setter for the rest of the album. It feels as if the album should always have started this way. Overall, for me, this is the stand-out of the new tracks. But I also think these new tracks, and the rest of the album of course, will sound much better via the purchased BD that other folks will have, than the Tidal streaming I'm listening to (as enjoyable as that is).
