Now SDE... since we've had two Aus/NZ acts so far... would love some Midnight Oil, Hunters and Collectors, Not Drowning Waving, Weddings Parties Anything, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Redgum, Go Betweens, Triffids, Cold Chisel, Paul Kelly...
Men At Work, Split Enz, Crowded House...
Australian groups seemed to have missed out on quad in the 70's (correct me if I am wrong) and similar seems to be happening with modern surround mixes (with some exceptions of course, such as this release and some others).
No AC/DC? ;)
Lol... How about Air Supply ;)

Excellent album and ordered - only my fourth SDE due to the extreme cost to get the releases to Australia but I have a complete set of INXS albums. I was not taken by the Kick atmos and the Live Baby Live bluray atmos was a disappointment. But it's a collection...

............... and the Lime Spiders "The Cave Comes Alive" & "Volatile"!

Got Rhino's email today announcing the deluxe sets of INXS "Listen Like Thieves". There's a 3 CD + LP deluxe set and a 2 CD set. Oddly, there are many tracks on the 2 CD set that are not on the 3 CD set. Disc 2 of the 3 CD set is just outtakes, incomplete takes and many 'one time listen is enough' filler. The third disc in that set is a live show, but the best songs from that show are on the two disc set. First time I have seen a "cut down" version of a deluxe set that is better than its parent.
And, of course, the surround mixes are only on the SDE exclusive. Nice one, Paul.

ps. Rhino offering 15% site-wide and free shipping on $50+ orders through 2/17.

Apologies @Stupy but I have to spill the beans:

There is a Hunters & Collectors Live Atmos release coming to a streaming service near you all soon!

I know because @Stupy and I were instrumental in getting the mix done. Stupy is being coy.

He is the guy running the Hunters & Collectors fan website here in AU and his connection to the band made this Atmos mix possible, take a bow my friend!!

I got their email too and also had a look at the details of the deluxe box set. The perplexing thing is the mention in the description of the set of the new Atmos mix by Giles Martin despite it not being included. https://store.rhino.com/en/rhino-st...ersary-deluxe-edition3cd1lp/603497822010.html

Why do they mention it at all when, as we know, the only physical release is via the wonderful SDE special editions? I realise that it is likely to be streaming but strange that Rhino don't mention at all where you could hear it should you want to........which I do! Cheers to Paul!!

I've lived in Australia longer than out of it and yet so few of the 70s and 80s OZ bands listed above hold any interest for me surround wise. For me they were all far too commercial. Most of the time I had to keep looking to Japan, Germany, UK and US. There were many great underground Oz bands that sadly didn't make it that big globally, such as Tsk Tsk Tsk, Laughing Clowns, Whirlywirld... The Models almost broke through globally and have started gigging again over the last number of years.

The only ones I'd be interested in, out of the Oz biggies - off the top of my head - would be The Go Betweens, The Church and The Triffids and their related spin-offs. I was also partial to Sebastian Hardie (think 70s Yes). And Nick Cave to some degree. However, today, Oz are proudly producing some super-adventurous bands.

I would never admit to even listening to Oz stuff oncommercial radio stations as a teenager in the 60s/70s! Doug Parkinson In Focus, Jeff St John and the Id followed by Copperwine) I enjoyed; by high school (68) I was a fan of Master's Apprentices, Tully, Bakery, Fatty Lumpkin, Taman Shud, Chain, Madder Lake, Blackfeather, etc, etc...
I would LOVE to see some surround Triffids and Sebatian Hardie!
