Prices are definitely on the way down on some Q8's.

Ted Nugent - Free for All just sold for the Buy it Now of $100.
Billy Joel - Streetlife Serenade went for $96 and change.
Billy Joel - Piano Man went for $150.50 (slightly up from the last one at $140)
I just scooped a Billy Paul (360 Degrees) for $38.

There's been a few Chicago tape sets that also haven't broken $100 where classically, they have.

I'm liking this! My collection has grown by enormous leaps in the last few months!

Ship Ahoy would be pretty hard to part with. It's perhaps the best Philadelphia International album and a fantastic Quad/5.1 mix.

I don't have Rocks on SACD. I have a mint SQ and a CD as part of "Box of Fire."

This air I breathe, it don't belong to me...

Someone from here got me a reasonably priced copy of Ship Ahoy SACD last year soon after I posted on this thread. Cheers.
My SACD collection is now nearly as complete as I would like.

don't forget to post in the QQ Anti-Shocker Log your bargain shocker finds! :D

If I didn't already have it. I'd pay big $$$. Musically and mix, it's one of the best Quads, made so much better on 5.1 SACD.

Mean green.

Worth noting that just like the Isley Brothers 3+3 SACD, the rear channels are reversed on the O'Jays SACD - you can hear it on the intro to 'For The Love Of Money' where the bass guitar goes FL->FR->RL->RR (ie a diagonal pan from FR to RL) whereas it should circle the room (FL->FR->RR->RL etc) and you can also hear it in some of the instrument reverbs in the rear speakers (perhaps the reverbs from the guitar intro in 'This Air I Breathe', but that's from memory).

In any event it's a great SACD, I wish Sony had reissued more of the PIR quad mixes (O'Jays, MFSB, Harold Mevin, etc.) as they're absolutely outstanding.

Feel lucky that I bought this one when it was still in print!

+1..! (y)

I so wish all the Isley Bros (T-Neck & not Philadelphia Int'l) & O'Jays quads (there's quite a few for both Isleys & O'Jays!) had been re-released as M/C SACDs back in the day.. plus there's a great Billy Paul Philly label quad too (name escapes me at min tho.. I think it's a different take of Me & Mrs. J too!?)

That's the one! His rendition of Your Song is hilarious!

"So excuse me forgetting, but these things I do Lord,
You see, you see I've forgotten if they're green or blue,
Anyway the thing is, anyway the thing is, what I really mean,
You've got the sweetest eyes, you've got the sweetest eyes
The clearest eyes I've ever seen...

WOO..!!! :p

One of my favorite features here on Quadraphonic Quad has been the eBay "Shocker Log" which shows how much rare discs are going for on eBay.
I recently noticed that the Shocker Log had not been updated for awhile, so I went in and updated it.

Attached you'll find a list of the Top 75 priced rare discs and tapes from eBay in Acrobat PDF format.
Most of which are Super Audio CDs. And yes, some of the eBay prices are shocking!

1. Moment of Glory - Scorpions & Berlin Philharmonic - $1,597
2. Bob Dylan - Complete 15 SACD Set - $1,444
3. English Chamber Orchestra - Mozart Piano Concertos - $850
4. Sarah Brightman - Time to Say Goodbye - $778.48
5. Dead Can Dance - Box Set - $750
