No hesitation, no need to check out songs.

I have all the 5.1 SACD EJ albums and those have superb surround mixes. To have Elton's greatest hits all in Atmos on 1 disc is a winner for Paul @ SDE and for surround music fans.

Kudos to you, Paul, for this one. A superb choice!

Preordered.

For someone that absolutely loves how immaculate Elton John's first greatest hits release was, I am a bit sad that "Border Song" and the original version of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" aren't included. Of course, this is nothing to blame SDE for. I just really wanted to put together a surround sound set of the songs from that compilation.

That being said, this release might serve as a stepping stone to get some more of Elton John's unreleased 5.1 mixes out into the world.

Interesting reasoning but that also has inner artwork, which is the main reason I dislike the blue case for TFF - it obscures the pictures on the inside.
My logic is that any SDE release that also offers video content is not strictly a 'pure audio' disc. So #15 Soft Cell, Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret is another candidate ;)

I suppose these are the same mixes that was/are up on Apple Music?
I used to listen this Diamonds-Atmos in Tidal, and Greg Penny appears as Immersive Mix Engineer. So I would assume the mix is the same.

Listening on streaming, the fidelity and the immersive mix is excelent, although there is not much use of Tops/Heighs (only in some passages), the immersive surround feeling in 7.1 is very good.

I'm not a special fan of Elton John (I have a more prog taste), but expecting the fidelity will be even higher in the Blu-ray, I will pre-order it. Lots of songs at a very affordable prize.

I will probably get this simply because of the price point and the sheer volume of songs, but the truth is I already have most of the EJ stuff that I enjoy in 5.1 and am happy with that. Half the songs here are from the 80s and beyond, which is a part of his catalog that I simply don't care for.

I more or less feel the same, but the opportunity to hear the 70’s stuff in atmos made it an easy purchase for me

Yes but EVERYONE loves Elt! Even after the classic '70's period, there still was the occasional gem, even on the shitty albums: Believe, Sacrifice, Circle of Life, Blue Eyes, The One - they've even included Good Morning to the Night, which will sound awesome in Atmos! Like everyone else, I have all the 5.1 SACDs and the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road blu-ray audio, but OF COURSE I'm buying this! Like everyone else!
