I’ve never heard of this act or this album. But there are quite a number of people who said that they re-purchased the title when it came out in Atmos; so it may be worth looking into.

Yeah, that's what I meant, mainly. There was confusion earlier if the stereo mix was new too, which I think I posted about in this thread.

Seems to me the answers from SDE weren’t definitive

I'm pretty sure it was clear in the email I shared in here (I say pretty sure because I don't remember the contents exactly). The stereo release is not a new mix.

I know you think the stereo mix is the same as the Web version but could you dr test it anyway?

Btw I believe the most dynamic digital release for the stereo mix was the sacd.

Yep! A wonderful Doug Sax master. Should have been the one used for all releases.

Specifically the DSD layer of the SACD, oddly enough. The CD layer had the regular compressed mastering.

Yep! A wonderful Doug Sax master. Should have been the one used for all releases.

I speculate this was done like that because genuinely buyers of sacd are in the audiofile crowd.

(Or it's part of my conspiracy theory that some record labels do not want uncompressed masters being distributed freely unless the media in question has "adequate" anti piracy)

Thank you very much for notifying. I have Just ordered it and am looking forward to hearing it in 5.1!

(Although I really should really invest in an Atmos set up someday)
