I received my shipping notice as well. Hopefully they sell a ton of these, so much that they go back and reissue the classic albums in Atmos. If they do, let's start with the ones that never got released in 5.1 - which I think were Caribou, Rock of the Westies and Blue Moves? Then release the others that already had 5.1 releases. Fingers crossed that these diamonds ain't rhinestones.
EJ certainly has the fanbase that would ensure a market for re-releasing in Atmos. At the rate things like that get done, I would say many of us might not live long enough to see all of those Atmos mixes though. Best one could hope is that this is already in the works behind the scenes.

Canadians should start to see theirs before the end of January, SDE are still holding off on mailing orders as Canada Post catches up.

During the strike I ordered a Blu-ray from Denmark shipped for CAD8 by USPS, it took 3-4 days to get here (new Opeth album).
Maybe they’ll have replacement Thompson Twins discs, if that happens, ready in time for the initial Canadian shipments on that title.

Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player also didn't get a 5.1 release!

I would bet they are already mixed and sitting in a vault somewhere

I recall that a few years ago UMG was willing to LICENSE ALL those Elton John 5.1 unreleased/remixed masters to Audio Fidelity with the proviso they also re~release their existing 6 Elton John SACDs as well! Marshall Blonstein, then CEO of AF decided it was too big a financial risk and nixed it.

To this day, UMG is still releasing a few of those extant EJ SACDs which are NOW pressed in the EU [rather than stateside] and those 3 unreleased EJ 5.1 remixes are still languishing in the Universal vaults!

And are now obsolete as I doubt they'd release any EJ surround mixes that aren't Atmos.

Which is fine if they want to do that, but I think we've passed the window for thinking we'll get those remaining four 5.1 mixes just because they are already finished and languishing and easy for SOMEBODY to release.

Or do like Pink Floyd and release the 5.1 mixes as BDs, then a year later release Atmos mixes.

That only happened with “Animals”, didn’t it?

But yes. Already we are seeing many albums that were released in 5.1 just a few years ago being “updated” with new Atmos mixes. And it seems very few new releases are 5.1-only anymore. It’s pretty much Atmos or nothing.

If we ever see an immersive release of “Don’t Shoot Me”, I’ll bet anything it will be in Atmos. Maybe they’ll include the now 20-year old 5.1 mix as a bonus on the disc. Or maybe not.

For some reason, my Alan Parsons Pyramid has stayed in shipping limbo for almost a month now. Once it reach the US, it went back-and-forth in Chicago twice, still haven’t received it but it’s in Dallas now on its way. Hoping Elton John gets here a lot quicker like some I’ve ordered in the past have.
