This is by far the best Atmos mix I have ever heard….a stone cold classic. My only regret is that GP didn’t find space for Ballad of the Boy in the Red Shoes.
With a catalog as vast as Elton's there are always going to be tracks we wish were included. I've got probably two dozen I wish were on here instead of others. lol.

The first two discs from the original 3-CD set are pretty much the tracks you'd expect to see on a GH package. The third certainly has some interesting choices. Elton's faves, I imagine? 🤷‍♂️

So I'm not going to complain much. And get 51 tracks -- 48 in Atmos -- on a single disc for the same price as all the others SDE discs?

What a value!

No email and still other awaiting parcels that should have been delivered from before the strike, so far only a CDJapan order has arrived from before the strike (although this time I was dinged another $15 for customs - hasn’t happened before for their orders).
Hi Guy

Ella here from the SDE shop in London
Hope you are well and thanks for your interest in the SDE surround sound Blurays.

Good news that the postal workers are back on the job now.

We will be posting the orders we were holding soon. You will receive confirmation and tracking then.

I am just waiting for confirmation from Royal Mail that they have processed the backlog they were holding.

Hope that is OK.

Anything else I can help with in future then just let me know.

Thanks Ella

I won't complain much, either - except to say that Funeral For A Friend would make for a great track in 12 channel Atmos surround.

it's fun to dream 😋😅 so i like to think SDE and QQ had a hand in getting the Rocket Man's Diamonds compilation to the Number 1 spot for the first time after 7 years on the UK charts..!! 🤯🫶🤩🌹🚀☺️🚂💘💎🥳

edit: also, it's quite something to see who else is in the Top 10, nobody else remotely of Elton's vintage is in there right now.

Fleetwood Mac's Hits are at Number 11 but every other entry in the Top 10 is a much younger current artist and some big names of their day, Ed Sheeran, Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX, The Weeknd, Taylor Swift.. Diamonds topped them all 🤩

quite remarkable for someone who had their first hit 55 years ago 🤯😳

yes! Disc 3 of the Limited Edition Collector's Box set was a Bonus Disc curated by Elton himself! 🤩😋

just the regular 2-disc version has quite interesting sequencing, vaguely chronological in feel but not actually so.

i find it's a rather artfully put together playlist, capturing the direction of Elton as an artist without being slavishly so to his career arc development and it's not just one ballad after another either ("Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting" comes right after "Daniel" after all..!! DOOF!! ✈️💥🎸🤪 which is quite out of kilter but very much appreciated! 😅😋

it'll be coming on the SDE Surround Blu-ray of "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"! 😋

which frankly is 3,000 copies minimum of money being left on the table and must surely be on the radar for a 2025 release maybe along with an SDE Surround release of "Captain Fantastic" which will be celebrating it's 50th Anniversary later in the year!! ☺️

Oh, just do it now for heaven's sake. Or does the record company need to soak the people for a big box set of each of these before SDE comes to the rescue?

As much as I'd prefer to see some other, never-before-in-surround titles first, I have to imagine an Atmos of GYBR would be on the minds of those who make these decisions.

Also -- since we know these mixes were done a couple of years back (2022, IIRC), do we know if Penny mixed ONLY these tracks at the time? Or did he go ahead and do the entire albums?

We obviously know that Two Low For Zero was done. If there's an Atmos mix of Don't Shoot Me sitting in the can and they aren't even releasing it for streaming? Somebody shoot me!
