Dear QQ members and fans, this is the day I have to thank YOU very much!
Approximately a year ago the Surround Sound fans from QQ showed and convinced me that there really are interested people and supporters for all kinds of surround sound, multichannel and high quality music and sound.
The record companies in the majority of cases argued the converse: to expensive, no target audience, no media feedback, a.s.o. and even did not inform about my many surround sound mixes on the cd covers or in the booklets.
That's why I decided (parallel to the conventional work) to dare to produce an album TOTALLY AT MY OWN RISK and CONSEQUENTLY, FLAT FOOTED, OFFENSIVELY FOR YOU !
The official release date for Europe is Friday 26th of September.
But for you American fans we could enable to make available the cd already NOW !

The multiple psycoacoustic effects, binaural dummy head recordings and numerous surround elements appear and work best with the equipment adjusted to Dolby Pro Logic, which the majority of fans have available in their hi-fi systems, cars and home cinemas.

Lively high end electronica in the German Berlin-school tradition. Mythos presents here an album aimed at showing just what electronic music can sound like when making full use of the technology currently available. Full surround sound recording is used to establish a rich spatial arena with crystal clarity and dynamic acoustic effects. MOOD
The mood of Surround Sound Offensive is in keeping with the title - dramatic, stirring compositions full of energy and aural detail. ARTWORK
Arriving in a slimline jewel case the artwork is uncomplicated and eye catching. A strong yellow sun-burst fronts the package. Sharp black lettering presenting the title and between the lines a pithy explanation of the intent of the album. Inside is a timed tracklist and German language discussion of the project in greater detail. For English speaking fans the insert opens out to reveal the relevant information in English.

OVERALL
This latest Mythos release is presented as the first in a new series of Mythos albums "offensively and consequently custom-made, matched and fine-tuned to YOUR wishes right from the start of the composition". In other words the artist Stephan Kaske is aiming to satisfy the desires of synth fans that are not content with mp3 quality sound or even common CD quality - Stephan explaining "the multiple psycoacoustic effects, binaural dummy head recordings and numerous surround elements appear and work best with the equipment adjusted to DOLBY PRO LOGIC (TM). We choose this format because the vast majority of fans have it available in their hi-fi systems, cars and home cinemas. It is also, of course, totally stereo compatible; many spacious events are already impressively effective in stereo". Eleven tracks in all make up this releases - the latest in an impressive Mythos discography that dates back into the early nineteen seventies!

WHO WILL LIKE THIS ALBUM
Mythos is building on the colourful tradition of electronic music that the project has pioneered since the early days. Sounds to me like it's a sort of development or alternative take on Q-Sound techniques.
Remember the Q-Tools, which are essentially a set of 3D Stereo tools?

So it's Binaural Stereo, which happens to decode (ish) in DPL (not even DPL II, so presumably dual monophonic rears)

One listen to Berlin electronica group Mythos' "Surround Sound Offensive" will change the way you listen to music forever.
Mythos frontman Stephan Kaske has composed an incredible, artistic instrumental album that gives a new meaning to fullness of sound. Self-produced by Kaske in Dolby Pro Logic Surround Sound, "Surround Sound Offensive" constantly has a variety of sounds going in different places at the same time that artfully come together as a compositional whole.
These instrumentals, minimalistically labeled "S.S.O.-1" through "S.S.O.-11" are excellently crafted, well-layered, catchy, and unique. These songs are, by nature, best when listened to loudly on a surround sound system, and the album is meant to be listened to from beginning to end, as an artistic whole.
"S.S.O.-2" has an '80s feel to it with a great beat and a full sound that brings lots of different sounds together. "S.S.O.-8" has a lot of spacey ambience going, more great beats, and excellent instrumental layering with well-timed fades and dueling instrumentation.
"Surround Sound Offensive" is an electronica masterpiece filled with amazing, full instrumentation that fills the canvas with Kaske's artistic expression.
Fans of electronica, and anyone with a surround sound system are going to want to pick this one up.-

Sorry, but it is too much unfounded mentioning about "offensive surround sound". DPL stereo is far from discrete multichannel recording as mono from stereo. This album can not be called surround.

Stephan, no offense meant to you, but to try to pass off a stereo recording as surround, without using some kind of encoding in a format that we all can relate to, isn't going to sell many copies of your CD to surround lovers in the know. This reminds me of what Polygram did when they released several albums by James Last in their "AMSI" surround system. That method
simply manipulated the stereo mixes into something that "resembled" surround sound. The results were disappointing, at best.

I loved to produce a cd especially for the fans of Dolby Pro Logic (TM) Surround Sound (and I'm still sure, they love the result and the initiative of a single musician and SS fan).

But from the beginning, only and exclusively on this page, there are people who CONSEQUENTLY REFUSE TO SIMPLY LISTEN TO THIS MUSIC!?!

Just connect your equipment i.e. to your laptop (L/R->L/R), switch to Dolby Pro Logic, go to i.e. CdBaby and LISTEN and ENJOY (for free) to up to 18 min.of genuine SS-music!!!

You're going to hear instruments, sounds and effects from front/left, front/right, centre, bass and OF COURSE from REAR LEFT/RIGHT !!!!! And sometimes moving to and fro all these directions/speakers.

And besides: -The use of single mono and stereo elements does NOT make a production to NOT SURROUND!
(Basically nearly EVERY sound recorded to a production by mic or cable is at first MONO.....)

Do you think all the international SS-fans and reviewers are deaf and dumb?!?

They just LISTENED and enjoyed this production.

As you see this is not my native language. That' s why I do not dare to write what is my opinion about those kind of people, OBVIOUSLY NEVER LISTENED to this record, in order not to affront someone.

I truly tried to avoid to lose time with such kind of destructive and needless "criticism" and ask the real SS-supporters for understanding, that I will not answer to those assertions any more. Not caring how much it might harm and hurt me. Please assure yourself and read what international media and experts write now and in the future.

I prefer to and I'm already working CONSTRUCTIVE at the next productions and the genuine fans will LISTEN TO and enjoy the results to the full.

Stephan, no one here was out to offend or hurt you in any way. The passion we all have for surround sound makes us want all we can get, and that you intended this recording for surround sound, we all thank you. What it might help you to know is that we're all interested in the details of how you went about making this album work in surround. There are many here who feel that for an album to be truly surround sound, it has to use one of the processes that are accepted as surround formats. These include DVD-A and SACD. Dolby Pro Logic II counts as well (it's QS with a different name). I'm very much interested in hearing this album. I plan to order it. But please know that my comments above were not meant to cast dispersions on you or your music. If this is how you took it, I'm truly sorry.
