The new Dune is out on 4k today, which means that the 15% off in stock items at DeepDiscount (Winter15) works. woo hoo
Why? It wasn't shot in 3D.I want the 3D version ... DD has it on back order and AmazonUS is taking pre~orders ..... won't be released for another two weeks! Bummer!

Meh... I don't really care how good a conversion is. I'm not interested if it wasn't intended and shot that way.I refer you to this article, JJ:

I’ll probably hold out on this until two days before they announce the 4K release. The Digital Bits rave review of Hal Ashby's HAROLD AND MAUDE lovingly restored in 4K from the original camera negative by Parmount Pictures. Note: the Criterion 2013 BD~V was scanned in 2K from an interpositive!

I went to pre-order Dune 4K and amazon.co.uk says it can't ship to my address (so why is it on their <bleep> website, idiots). This seems to be happening with pre-orders, once its released its ok, daft.
Great to hear. I might have to put this on my list. Haven't seen it for many years. "Give me back my phone" was always a freaky line. Finally got around to watching KINO LORBER'S exceptional BD~V remaster of David Lynch's LOST HIGHWAY last night. Not only was the video, IMO, exceptional, but Lynch's DTS~HD MA 5.1 soundtrack was ALL enveloping from first frame to last. If you have any love for the film, until Universal or Criterion offer a Native UHD4K remaster, this is the version to get!

Great news, other than of course including 3 which is miserable and it looks like they are compounding the issue with it being the recent Coda ...
damn..
still going to get it though.
