I don't know what this is, but 4K for $6.50 with a pretty face and I'm sold!

You’ve probably received and watched it by now, Sean, but this is a great flick and one of the best AI movies in recent history. Not sure if it’s available in 4K or not, but I also recommend a Upgrade as a highly enjoyable and innovative AI movie. I have yet to open my wallet to the 4K realm, but will have to soon.

This and Titanic were the first two DVD's I ever owned/watched. Got 'em free with the purchase of a Sony player.

It's a hard pill to swallow to keep rebuying this stuff so I cued up the disc for rental.

Thanks for the heads up on this one as I didn't realize it had been reissued. I'm looking forwarding to hearing the beach landing in ATMOS.

This movie did something rare for me; crying during the opening scene. My dad was in that war fighting the Nazis in Germany and Belgium. And of all things was a gunner on a half-track mounted with QUAD 50s. That generation was special and extremely brave.

went to see Toy Movie 4 in 3D yesterday and it was really good; just when you thought that there'd be no way of going on , they pulled it out of their hats and delivered...
A few Surround moments that were VERY GOOD! Highly recommended, two thumbs up!!!

In the home front, got a few Criterion BDs at half the price...have seen these two- got them, of course, because of the goddesses, Juliette and Isabella!!!

and, cause I have heard here that THIS is the definitive (as opposed to the indefinite) BD (I am saving this one for when my sweetie comes to Denver in a couple of weeks.. and watch it with a bottle of Bordeaux!)

Kap, nice selection. I'm still awaiting a true Native UHD 4K remaster for Blue Velvet, I opted for the complete 422 minute version of Sergei Bondarchuk's WAR and PEACE also from Criterion which I'll be watching over a few nights and was remixed for 5.1 and originally shot in 70mm. Won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Picture in 1969!

Every time I meander into my local Best Buy, there are less and less discs available to purchase. Today, I was shocked by what I saw. There were only two rows of movies and a few end caps. Could reduced inventory at online retailers be next?

No, that's exactly why there are only two rows at B&M's, specifically because "online retailers (which lets face it are basically amazon and amazon and amazon) have to pay much more overhead than amazon who stores these discs in "fullfilment centers" deep in the heart of every poor remote county in America for pennies on the dollar compared to the high retail shelf space at the vast majority of B&M's (because B&M's are in less remote areas = higher rent).

Jeff Bezos didn't get to be the richest man in America for nothing.

How about just the original in 4K??

Ironic thing would be, even though this is reference quality video the surround track wasn't all that interesting, but all that ambience of the forest in atmos would really be lifelike if they spent a good amount of time mixing the heights. Maybe even mix in "alien" sounds we've never heard, similar to how they did the visuals.

That could really be a first, to create all new "alien" sounds of an alien forest (and in atmos to boot).
