Looking at one of these online. I like the looks and obviously the price is better than some of the more coveted vintage units like the standalone Sansui models. Looking at the front panel the mode selector looks pretty self explainatory. If I wanted to use this just for simple stereo to 4 channel use is the remote and manual necessary? I understand (I think) that you would choose ‘Rock’ mode but not certain. Just going over some old posts in the archive it seems that both the remote and manual are a must, but it looks fairly clear-cut unless I am missing something.

Is there anybody here on the board that has experience with these units and if so can you please just give me a quick rundown on their experience with this model is and the best way to achieve just the basic function that I have mentioned. Also, is there a way to run a tape deck into the back and use the tape monitor function if it has a proper one?

Thanks,
Luke

This unit can come close to doing QS using the Pop setting.
There are pics from my unit decoding test signal from QS lp (lf,rf,bl,br,front center, back center). The left rear is not correct but close.

Thanks vinylguy. Looks like a winner. I will primarily use it for stereo to 4 channel because I don’t have any Matrix discs. Well I do but only a few and I am not really a vinyl guy. I did find a remote for $30 and the manual online. For just simple 2 to 4 channel decoding is there anything special to know? I did read on one of the threads that it is preferable to clear the memory as to get a fresh start as it were. I am fairly quick to learn new gadgets but I guess some of the comments that I read made it seem like it was semi-involved.

Thanks.
