That's one of the things that pisses me off from SW...his insistence in 48 K

...hey , I HOPE I'm wrong and that is what he got to begin with...but , REALLY... 48K? Come oooon! Ask for a 96K transfer!!!!!!

That blurb was just a generic (and incorrect) technical document from Amazon. SW has been working in 96/24 at his home studio since Grace For Drowning at the very least, and maybe earlier than that.

RT can drool over the next XTC release all day.... THIS is the one I am really dreaming of.

@ haikubass: I guess it is a simple case of supply/demand. Obviously few people are pre-ordering this so the price goes low to ensure Amazon sells at least the stock they anticipate having.

Tis a shame many people can't leave their prison of 4/4 verse-chorus-verse to groove into the sublime complexity of Gentle Giant.

A Power And The Glory is a true masterpiece of compositional music AND it was recorded so well with tons of signal and warm analog sound.

Some classic recordings(much of classic jazz) were recorded before technology could present it how it deserved to be presented to the world.

Not here.

This recording was done in the prime of analog mulit-track recording. I bet Steven Wilson had a BLAST mixing this. It is going to sound so fabulous & full & discrete & beautuful.


What a treasure and Kingly gift for all who are bold enough to accept it.

I should think all QQers would be wise enough to grab this one since it is being sold for basically naught.

This is a fine album and if said $50 it would still be a sure thing! We've all paid more than this for clunker material, let's all be ordering this one.

Worst case if it doesn't absolutely blow your mind, consider it an investment as surround futures expert DMJ outlines.

Failing that I want a friendly re-supply route as I intend to wear mine out. Hands shaking in trembling anticipation each time could cause some mishaps.

Sure makes those Pure Audio discs look like a bloody joke. A CD/BluRay disc for less than $20 delivered to my door with many great features, compared to a BluRay Pure Audio disc with zero video and no bonus material for $30 plus.

I will continue to support Steven Wilsons work plus the companies who support this music.

The blu ray came in today. After thre listens I can tell you, we're on a lucky streak. First the wonderful Quadrophenia, then the excellent Legend and now this! Your 5.1 setup is firing on all cylinders and I swear, this is how this music was intended to sound from the beginning. Sound is crystal clear and you have the urge to turn it louder and louder. And you can do this without fear for your ears. This really is as good as it gets (probably until Mr Wilson's next stroke of genius - which is hopefully Tales From Topographic Oceans, fingers crossed). Can't wait for the fourth spin of this disc - and then the fifth, sixth etc.

What part of the world do you live in? I ordered P&G from both Burning Shed and Amazon USA, so I hope I get mine soon.

I think this release may be the best sounding of 2014.
