My music (possibly breaking the rules a little - includes surround sound music):

~100 compact cassettes (~40 minutes each = 67 hours)
~60 VHS/Betamax music videos&concerts (~40 minutes each = 40 hours)

~40 MP3s single songs (~3 minutes each = 2 hours)
~5 MP3 albums (~40 minutes each = 3 hours)

~200 vinyl LPs (includes quad albums) (~40 minutes each = 133 hours)
~60 45s (~3 min each = 3 hours)

~450 CDs (a few surround sound encoded) (~50 minutes each = 375 hours)
~10 CED music videos&concerts (~90 minutes each = 15 hours)
~60 LD music videos&concerts (~60 minutes each = 60 hours)
~40 DVD music videos&concerts (~60 minutes each = 40 hours)
~10 Blu-ray music videos&concerts (~60 minutes each = 10 hours)

~10 Blu-ray audios (~40 minutes each = 7 hours)
~20 SACDs (~40 minutes each = 13 hours)
~10 DVD-As (~40 minutes each = 7 hours)

About 800 hours of music purchased since 1971, listening 2 hours a day 5 days a week, I could listen to all of my music in about 1.5 years.

Now, I only buy every album by:
Elton John
Stevie Wonder
Madonna

Anyone else estimated how many hours of music you own?

edit: 10 Blu-ray audios, not 20

I was hoping you'd weigh in Quad Linda..

I will be shocked if anyone can beat your collection.

okay QL , fess up -- what is the title of that lone Mini Disc ?
Like you - I own 1 mini disc. Mine is a Rolling Stones title.

Hmmm, big ask.

About 1300 LPs, although I guess ten or so are spoken word. So abour 1000 hours

Edit: about 100 78s - two hours?

A couple hundred 45s - call it five hours.

About 500 CD, SACDs, DVD-As and music Blu-rays. About 100 hours

About 100 LaserDiscs. About 80 hours.

Iā€™ve digitzed all my tapes, so thatā€™s easy.

I couldn't even begin to almost try to begin to sort of guess what I have on shellac, vinyl, reel, cassette, 8-track, MiniDisc, Laserdisc, CED and VHS, but my music server reports these numbers, which would include every CD I ever bought (except for maybe two that were unreadable) as well as downloads, personal digitizations of records/tapes, etc.:

Total Tracks: 132,255
Total Albums: 11,643
Total Artists: 23,272
Total Playing Time: 9726:44:33

Everything I own except for less than 100 concert video discs are ripped, so easy to answer.

SACD, DVD, BD, RBCD, Dual Disc, etc 63,192 files, 199.5 days, 7.1TB. These are FLAC and DSF files.

BD Atmos MKV 1625 files 8.3 days, 1.7TB.

I would guess, 1/3 was a one time listen only?
