Howard Jones surround mixes from Cherry Red!

One of these days, I might get a shipping notice from Amazon for these two titles.

Does it not show any dates when you click on the 'Track package' button?

I received an email from Amazon UK about a delay in the shipment of my order of Human's Lib. I was expecting that to be a week or so but they're now saying the estimated shipping date will be between July 6 and August 22.

I received an email from Amazon UK about a delay in the shipment of my order of Human's Lib. I was expecting that to be a week or so but they're now saying the estimated shipping date will be between July 6 and August 22.

I'm having the same trouble with Amazon Au. It's in the local record shop, it's past date of release, but nothing from Amazon. I contacted their customer service last night through their chat and they gave me what felt like sympathetic pre-prepared cut-and-paste answers.

The same thing happened to me with Air's Moon Safari. Three emails about delays, two separate targeted emails suggesting I might like to buy it based on my purchasing history (!), two polite, reassuring chat exchanges with their customer service and then finally a cancellation email saying something like, 'it is no longer available'.

So I'm obviously fearing the same could happen with these two Howard Jones albums.

So, I guess my message is, don't trust those 'a delay in the shipment' emails.

so.... The 5.1 mixes are glorious @Stephen W Tayler but all this nostalgia reminded me that when I went to see Howard at the Hammersmith Odeon (probably in 1984?) I turned up to the show without tickets and managed to get some 'returns' on the night.. It was only the day after when I looked at the back of the tickets that I noticed they had silver writing on : "Howard to Steve" Obviously it meant nothing to me at the time (other than it might have been written by Howard), but now I'm wondering if they were for a particular Steve?

Did you happen to miss a Hammermith show?? Or were they for a different Steve?

Well, no idea if that was me or not, but I did actually go to that show!! I'm thinking that might have been when I got to see the Jed live back projection for 'Assault & Battery' that led to me wanting to redo it for the live show projections! Am I thinking about the right show? SWTx

Looks like there were 3 shows at Hammersmith in '84, 22nd April, and 23rd & 24th Dec.. I don't believe I would have gone on Christmas Eve and I can't look at the other side of the ticket as its in a picture frame with others ! Doh.. Would he have called you Steve? Did he write on the back of tickets like that?

I ordered from Amazon and they failed. They asked me if I'd like to keep my order, and I thought, "Yeah... I can be patient." Since then I've been checking the usual places - Deep Discount/Import CDs, Bullmoose, Cherry Red, and the SDE Shop - and seeing that they're either backordered or not even listed anymore (even Cherry Red).

Well today my patience ran out and I ordered them from the SDE Shop, where the bundle is sold out but separately they are still in stock. It cost me quite a bit more than it would have with Amazon, but I can't miss out on these releases.

I initially jumped on ordering from SDE when these were first announced. Then I cancelled that ordered and went with Amazon US because it was so much cheaper. I don’t mind waiting a few weeks (I’ve waited years for these so what’s a bit more time). But if I miss out completely I’m going to be BEYOND pissed off.

Two of my very favorite albums by any artist. Ever. Period.

I ordered from SDE at a costly price including shipping fees. But it was never delivered, and tracking shows they actually never gave the packet to the Royal Mail. So I would better keep with Amazon... SDE is not an insurance (and they don't answer mails)

I've been having the same experience with Amazon Oz. A friend has as well on three occasions. That is, getting in early with buying something at a good price, but then Amazon simply not sending out the purchase and then finally cancelling it. That's been my experience with Moon Saf, and now appears to be the case with these two HJ albums. It's like you've entered into a power game with them: who's going to cancel first.

Anyway, on this occasion I've spotted the two HJ albums in a local store for a reasonable price (for once, the store is normally quite pricey), so I've put them on hold for tomoz and cancelled my two with Amazon. I may never use Amazon again, given this new practice of theirs. Thank God for other outlets.

Sorry I just bought the last copy of Human’s Lib at £19.99 from Yellow and Green along with Dream into Action also £19.99 plus £2.75 postage for the pair. I believe Yellow and Green are connected to Cherry Red as apparently their shipping address is the same as Cherry Red, so they may well get more stock.

JB Hifi in Bourke St, Melbourne. They are not on their online store, but I was in that store a week ago and to my surprise, there they were, three copies of each, sitting in the shelves.

So my advice is, if you haven't already done it, ring the main store and get them to look on the shelf. If they don't have it, they may still be able to check if they're in stock in another branch. JB have been becoming super expensive for me but these were $52.99 each, which is not that much higher than Am Au (though as mentioned, I initially 'obtained' them at a better price than Am Au have now, however I no longer trust I will actually see them.)

Failing this, my other suggestion is to go with Rarewaves.com. They still have copies. With deliv, you only end up paying slightly higher than JB, and you get points towards a later discount coupon.

Yes that's a great help thanks. I have already ordered Humans Lib from wowHD. It came to AU$42.72 including shipping, so not too bad. They are now out of stock of both albums, so I might check JB if I'm in the mood for the second!

Well, after cancelling my original order from SDE because Amazon was so much cheaper, I've now gone back and reordered from SDE and now will be paying $5 more because they no longer offer the 'bundle' price.

C'est la vie, I suppose. But I will be devastated if I miss out on these titles completely or if I wait so long the price becomes outrageous.

I'll keep the Amazon order. If it shows up, maybe I'll be able to sell them eventually at a market price that helps me recoup some of my extra costs here. I'll put them in the small pile of titles I've inadvertently ordered multiple copies of and holding onto until the time comes where I could really use some extra cash.
