wOw! This has to rate up there with the very greatest twofers that the fabulous folks at Dutton-Vocalion have EVER released! The Heat Is On is the third release of the 3 + 3 lineup; We all know that three is a magic number, and The Heat Is On is pure magic from start to finish–one of the essential Isley Brothers albums! And Harvest For The World isn't far behind! Sure, not quite as strong as The Heat Is On, but still an absolute killer of an album! But what really sets this release apart are the mixes, especially on Harvest For The World! These mixes are discrete masterpieces that will bring you hours and hours of nuanced listening pleasure. Turn this one way up! Can't be anything but a 10! Keep 'em coming, Michael Dutton!

Does this mean that this is one of those albums where there was never a true discrete 4 channel master? It was mixed in SQ and the only master saved was the SQ-encoded stereo master? I infer from the way the note is written that it is not lost, more that there never was a 4 channel master. Presumably the 1975 decoding was deemed to be so good that a 4 channel master was thought superfluous? - See Owen's reply below for link to SteelyDave's notes on this.
